I need some support, motivation, words of encouragement, or simply a giant KICK IN THE BEHIND! I was doing soooo good until I went on my first kid-free vacation in over 5 years with my hubby. I admit, I blew it big time. I didn't work out, count my calories, or watch what I ate and gained 6lbs! I'm very ashamed and embarrassed. I am "back on the wagon" as of this morning and I WILL get this weight off!

Get back to your normal routine and you'll find the weight coming off quickly. Hope you had a great time!

Put it in perspective...did you really eat/drink an excess of 21000 calories? Probably not. Get back into your routine and keep it extra "clean" the first few days: protein, veggies, and fresh fruit. At least half of it is probaby water weight and will come off quickly. The last pound or so, maybe not.
  • Sounds like it was a much needed break! Just get back in the saddle and take charge again. You'll do great :o)

In sept I went on vacation. I was at my absolute heaviest and was like what am I doing in this body?! Since then, I lost almost 20 pounds. You can do it!!!!!! Just decide you will and you will.
  • Vacation weight is typically a lot of water weight b/c of the sudden increase in sodium (and perhaps alcohol) in your diet. A few weeks back to your normal, healthy eating, and I'm sure you'll see those 6lbs (and maybe some of its friends) gonzo!

And don't feel ashamed or embarrassed. You went, had a wonderful vacation with your husband....remember it as a good thing. And if you want to take anything away from it, learn what you'd do different the next time you're whisked away on a romantic vacation. But always be proud of yourself! /hug

Well said! I always weigh about 4 lbs more after I come back from a vaca weekend. Drink lots of water and lower your sodium intake for the next 2-3 days. Then weigh again. You will be pleasantly surprised I'm sure. :)

Don't worry about it. The fact that you were willing to share this with everyone means that you are willing, ready and able to get back on track. Don't fuss on where you are now, focus on where you can be a week from now!

So was your vacation any fun? Wghat did you do? Was it relaxing and did you come back refreshed? I think this is way more important then obsessing about weight. How long were you good before you left? Keep working the program and get on track and maybe a change in your calories will fire something up for yah.
  • Don't look back and beat yourself up for a little indulgence. Just keep moving forward and put your six pounds behind you.
