Help! I gained 7 pounds in one day?!

I was 5'6.5" and 122.2 lbs. Yesterday, I had a bit of a cheat day (I didn't log it becauseit was too much and I'm too lazy). I weighed myself after it all and I was 127 lbs. I knew it'd go down because it's just food/water weight. I didn't eat enough to gain a full pound (about 2,500 calories I ate). Then, today when I woke up I was 128 lbs. That was REALLY disheartening. And I had a normal day today, I ate a normal amount (1,200) plus I went for a bike ride for an hour and a half. I just weighed myself though and I weigh 129.6!!! I'm so sad. How is this possible?

Don't weigh yourself multiple times a day.
All you'll do is drive yourself bonkers and create an unhealthy obsession with a number no one else sees.
If what you eat yesterday was high in sodium, it's going to be water weight.
But at 5'6.5" and 125ish lbs (taking an average), you'rea good weight for your height (I'm half an inch taller).
And there is no need to eat 1200 calories and cycle for an hour and half (unless you enjoy cycling that much).
But increase your calories, especially if you only want to lose a couple of vanity pounds (which at 125ish, I assume it's vanity at this point - no judgement), change your settings to lose half a pound a week.0 -
unless you ate 24,500 calories above your maintence in one day then i am thinking that is normal weight fluctuations and/or water weight.0

This sounds impossible. I would expect that much weight (at 2500 per day with little or no exercise) to take at a very least a week.
Is there a possibility that your body could be telling you that you are underweight rather than overweight. This is the only excuse I can think of, because you are a healthy weight for your height.0 -

It's not BS, my height was just measured today for the first time in a while. It is possible to grow.0

I'd question an inch and a half in 3 days but I had a nurse measure me 3 times in 5 minutes and I was a different height each time.
Regardless of your height, my original comment still stands.
Weigh once a day (really once a week is enough), at the same time, in the same clothes (most weight naked), and after going to the bathroom.
You're going to have daily weight fluctuations due to time of the month, muscles retaining water from a hard work out, high sodium from the day before, etc.0 -

don't weigh yourself so often...once a week is enough....that is mostly water weight and you are going to drive yourself crazy...weigh yourself every Monday at 7am then you can gauge yourself.0

1. You will take an enormous dump sometime soon and suddenly discover a miraculous way to lose 5-lbs in a matter of minutes.
2. You will realize how ridiculous this sounds and understand how many calories it takes to gain 7-lbs of body fat.0 -
Weigh yourself every other week or third week and average your numbers off of that, daily is just soul crushing and weekly can even be disheartening. I never adjust my macros without a 3 week average, even if I have to gain weight to know what my body is doing, we are in this for the long haul learn how your body reacts and adjust accordingly. I ate a 1300 calorie sunday Friday night, had more fat in that sunday my daily allowance, no F%@#$ were given.0

get a new scale!!! If you cant handle the fluctuations or guilt, dont cheat.....this leads to weight gain0

lots of salt+water= water retention
if your cheat was on your hungry hormone day your won't even out for a few weeks.0 -
either that was a whole grocery store of food you cheated by, or just a LOT of sodium..i know after i eat chinese food (usually 3-4 plates at a buffet) my body bloats up 3 lbs heavier the next day..there are endless possibilities and reasons here..i wish i had to worry about being 130 pounds..we can trade bodies for a while..im almost certain this weight will eventually come off too
*i just saw how young you are too..holy crap ! you have your whole life to live..stop worrying about this right now..if you are freaked out now, i would hate to see what happens when you get pregnant and have kids, and gain 40 plus pounds from that*0 -

One "cheat" isn't going to make you gain 7 pounds of fat. 3500 calories to gain one pound x 7 pounds = 24,500 extra calories consumed. So unless your "cheat" was to eat like 10 whole pizzas washed down by 10 liters of soda, you're probably fine. Stop weighing so much. Step away from the scale. Relax.0 -

Fluctuations in scale weight due to water retenion is not something to be concerned by.

that right there is concerning. If, now and again, you just don't bother to log because it is hard and what you ate was "too much" then you are just going to sit there and spin your wheels.0 -
Weight – So many things can affect weight, because of this it shouldn’t be the only way you track your progress. Things to keep in mind:
:drinker: Always use the same scale – Different scales can show different weights. You will get the most accurate number for tracking when using the same scale.
:drinker: Don’t move the scale – Carpet, uneven flooring, different types of flooring…can all affect the weight on the scale. So when you weigh, you want it to be approximately the same spot for the most accurate number for tracking.
:drinker: 3500 calories – To gain 1lb of fat you need to be over maintenance by 3500 calories.
:drinker: Muscle Repair – Muscles will hold onto water to repair, because of this it is not uncommon to see a gain for a little while after a workout. This weight comes right back off when they are done repairing.
:drinker: Sodium – Can cause you to retain water. This can also be amplified if you don’t drink enough to flush it out of your system. This is also another reason for temporary weight gain.
:drinker: Water – Not drinking enough water can actually cause you to retain water. Recommended amount is 8 cups or 64oz. I drink 64 oz to 128 oz of water a day. It doesn’t have to be plain water either. I like to flavor mine with crystal light or tea.
:drinker: Time of day – Your weight can fluctuate throughout the day. So for the most accurate tracking, you want to weigh at around the same time.
:drinker: Frequency – This is up to you, but if small fluctuations bother you than only weigh once a week or less.
:drinker: Lightest Weight – Will be naked, first thing in the morning, after using the bathroom
:drinker: Multiple times a Day – Don’t Do It. As I said before, your weight will fluctuate throughout the day. What you eat, what you’re wearing, ect will all affect weight.
:drinker: Clothes – If you weigh with clothing on, keep in mind that the scale will show your weight plus the weight of your clothes. (Jeans are heavy)
:drinker: TOM - A lot of women will retain water around their TOM, but its just temporary and will go away.

I looked at yesterdays food diary and your weight is up because of the amount of sodium you ingested. Cut out 1/2 the sodium, consume extra H2O to flush out your system, and you'll be back to normal this weekend.0
