anyone else ever 'start over'?

I am currently 'starting my fitness over' as I like to call it.
Last august I weighed 125lbs and had a high body fat percentage. I committed to doing a Jillian Michaels video for 30 days, then I would change the video. I ended up doing this for 4 months and weighing 109lbs, and lowering my body fat a lot. I loved the way I looked. I was so confident, and loved how I looked in clothes and my underwear
I guess around January I entered a relationship and started getting what you call 'the happy relationship diet' you know, where you just sit around with your partner and enjoy each others company while enjoying eating everything in site.
well I ate my way back up to 118lbs lost muscle mass, became squishy and flabby etc..
SO then i did insanity, I finished it, looked good for about 72 hrs , and realized I couldn't keep up with the High intensity cardio for ever.
I've kinda been bouncing around lately, my weight is back down to 112.8lbs... and I really want to tone back up and get back to how I looked a few months ago. I know its mostly body fat, I know all about muscle being more dense and taking up less room. I am highly aware by how my cloths fit right now.
So starting today, I restarted doing a Jillian Michaels video once a month, and hopefully it will lead me to where I was.
so I'm starting over
has anyone else every 'started over' and had the same problem? have you been successful at it? what did you learn?
btw I am only 5'2 and I have a very small frame, if anyone was wondering about the lower weights, my mom only weighs 95 (she's been that way her whole life! )

I sure have. A few years ago I lost a bit of weight, did fairly well with my eating habits, then stopped caring and gained it back & then some. I hit the highest weight I'd ever been at and decided I needed to change something.
I am pretty good with exercising regularly, but I have a hard time eating properly. I get carried away and eat too much junk food and drink too much pop & alcohol. I guess I'm always "starting over" when it comes to my nutriition. I have to re-motivate myself regularly to keep myself going. I think it's pretty normal to fall off from time to time.
Question though: Why do you think you can't keep up the high intensity cardio? I understand if it's not something you can do 6 days a week for the rest of your life, but a few times a week should be do-able!0 -
I think almost all of us have started over on diet, exercise, or both. I really admire your dedication to tough workouts. Compared to putting on and keeping muscle mass through fitness, I think losing weight is a breeze.0

Yes, I'm back at it now. Lost around 10 kg three and a half years ago using MFP, running and lifting weights. Slowly, the kilos have come back on, mostly due to not watching what I eat. But I am determined to get back to 63 kg now, and keeping it off!0

What if you found something fun to do that you would enjoy sticking to? I have a friend who dances Flamenco, another who's really into Crossfit, and I used to work with a woman who did Roller Derby and loved it. You might want to look into adult recreational sports, like adult dodgeball, or softball, or do aerobics classes! I think maybe the key to keeping this up longterm is eating things you like, and finding fun things to do with your body to stay fit.0

YES! This is probably my 3rd official time starting over. I've struggled my whole life with weight (since I was in 6th grade) When I got Engaged and started looking at wedding dresses I weighed 255... I said 'I wont be a plus size bride' I started working out and eating healthy and 15 months later I had lost 75 pounds and was no longer plus size (keep in mind I ma 5' 10" and have a large frame.)
2 days after our wedding I found out we were expecting... This was a huge surprise and of course I gained back all of those 75 pounds.... eek!! When my daughter was 2 I had had enough. I started eating healthy and got into running. I got myself back down to 190 and was probably in the best fitness shape I had been in... I was loving myself! And then boom... My Husbands mom Passed away unexpectedly. She was my rock... but more importantly she was my husbands rock... so I felt like I couldn't show my emotions..... so I ate my emotions... and then 3 weeks later his step brother passed away at the age of 21.... and then followed by an additional 6 deaths of aunts, great aunts and uncles.... it led to more and more emotional eating... I didn't know where to turn. I was now back up to 225 and climbing fast!
Finally last december my doctor put me on some anti depressants... I didn't think I was depressed but it did bring me out of the cloud I was living in. I'm now back at it again.... I hope to get back down to the 180 I was at my wedding... and maybe even lower!! Would love to have support if any of you would like more friends!!!!0 -
I also do at home workout programs and my biggest factor for continuing is variety. I've done Jillian MIcheals Fat Shredder, Insanity, T25, now I"m doing P90X and I plan to do the other P90s and then find something else. That and I'm in a group of people on Facebook who are working out also so that daily reminder helps alot. I'm at about 8 months and counting. If you're interested in joining us, feel free to send me a PM. We have over 500 people doing a variety of programs or just working out at a gym.0

I have started over many times. My problem isn't losing then regaining. My problem is staying on track to do the losing. But that big problem came from my ex-husband. Now that he's out of the picture, I am very motivated to hit the gym and eat better.
I have "maintained" the same weight, for the most part, for the last 5 years. I think if I can lose the weight, it won't be too difficult for me to keep it off.
Good luck to "starting over".0 -
Its good to know so many other people have felt this way and understand. I love my Jillian Michaels videos. I plan on doing it 5 days a week to tone up and lose some inches. I put my diary on public so j can be more accountable of my food. If anyone wants tot be friends and add me feel free. We can support eachother . its hard but I think u a can do it! Actually I know I can.!0
