What time do you work out and why???

I am a morning exerciser. I have to be because if I don't do it in the morning, it won't get done. I am going to set my alarm for 6am tomorrow and try and get in at least 45 mins to an hour of cardio. I have 2 small children and I'm a stay at home mom so it's VERY hard for me to exercise any other time. My husband usually works 10-12 hours a day so I have no one to watch the kids while I exercise. I'm just so NOT a morning person so we'll see how it goes!
Just wondering when you work out and why you picked that time. Thanks!

I usually exercise in the morning before work but sometimes I have to go in the evening. On the weekends, I go to the gym after getting out of bed.0

I workout after work. I can't get up in the morning before work...Weekends when I get out of bed, which is pretty early!0
-
I run Mon/Wed/Fri at lunchtime, run by the river. Work in the City, London, England.0
-
4:15 am because that is the only time I can fit it in and I won't do it if I don't do it first thing.0
-
I'm a 4:30 am exerciser because I'm in class or at work 'till 10 pm. You can do it!0
-
5:30 AM because I also have kids and work full time. It's either then or never0
-
I workout first thing in the morning before my kids get up and my day gets started. I find it keeps me energized throughout the day and I don't have to try to figure out when to fit it in through out the day.0

I have to workout at night after my daughter goes to bed, but sometime I exercise before she goes to bed if someone will watch her for me.0

During the workweek, I have to leave for work by 6:15. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I get up at 4:00 and workout for 30-45 minutes at 4:15 with a friend who needed a workout support buddy. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I workout at 4:30 p.m. It's a non-negotiable time and everyone in the house knows it. : )
Saturdays and Sundays...mid-morning.0 -
I am not a morning person either...lol! I usually workout after work, if I decide I want to go to the gym, or after everyone has settled in for the night. Last night I was doing Wii Zumba Fitness at 9:00! I have a six year old daughter and my husband leaves for work at 5:30 every morning. So if I want to work out in the morning I would have to do it before he leaves. For me that is impossible. Good luck with what works best for you!0

After work. I get up at 4:30 just to make it to work by 6:30. I have a long commute. I get home about 4:30 so for biking and running it will be right after I get home.0

I'm a stay at home mom too, and my husband works 10 hour days as well, and I exercise in the evening after he gets home. I get dinner on the table, get the kids situated and eating, make sure I eat my dinner, my husband comes home and I go to the gym. He does baths and bedtime routine, and I usually get home just in time to kiss them goodnight and have some chill out time with my husband.
Reading that back, I realized how lucky I am to have him. He's very supportive. I of course would prefer to have a family dinner, but I had to re-prioritize and I need my workout time more than family dinner at this point.
I used to wake up at 4am to exercise, and I was tired and mean all day and had to go to bed around 7pm, so I never got ANY time with my husband at all. This schedule works much better for us.0 -
I WORK OUT AT NIGHT, I WORKOUT ACCORDING TO HOW MY DAY WENT. EXERCISE SUCKS AND I WONT DO MORE THAN I HAVE TO! LOL0
-
I work out in the evening, around 6ish. I am not a morning person and I have discovered if I work out in the morning I am sick all day. On the weekends I exercise in the afternoon and evening.0

Do it first thing in the morning at 5:30. I have to do it before my 2 yr old gets up or it won't get done. Especially since she doesn't really nap!0
-
Another 415am here. I actually don't mind getting up that early though, so it works. I just won't have time to squeeze in an hour at night. I usually get 20 minutes or so extra at night if I have time. (Treadmill or ab work mostly)0

Dayshift Im up at 3am to train before work.
Nightshift I train straight after work at 6:30am
Days off I get up at 5am to train.
So Im a morning person but Im going to step it up by doing something in the arvo.0 -
I recently became a stay at home mom and wondered how I was going to work this out. I am SO not an early morning exerciser and I don't like to do it after my husband gets home because I have a five year old that I only get a couple of hours with in the evening after he gets home from school/daycare. My other two kids are home with me all day, but I find that it works best for me to work out when my 1 year old is napping. My four year old will watch me or watch a program on tv while I do it, so that really helps. I actually like doing it while my four year old is around because I think it sends a great message to him that exercise is good!0

I wake up at 4am to eat a lil snack, than go back to sleep, than wake up at 5am to walk 3 miles which takes me about an hour plus warm up and cool down. and Honey I have to tell you, You feel energyze for the rest of the day. Good Luck to you and what you might want to try because you have small children is to get a DVD from Leslie Sansone walk at home.... (that's what I do) It is a WORK OUT!!!!! am sore half the time. and I do it while my kids are still asleep.0

usually around 9pm when baby is sleep and wife sleep or occupied0

I work out in the morning (I converted from working out at lunch). My primary reason is that working out at 5:30 a.m. means no distractions, no interruptions (work, phone calls, appointments), and less folks in the gym. It gives me the energy I need to get through the day and I seem to have loss more weight as a result of the change in workout time.
Morning workouts voided most of my excuses for not going to the gym.

During the weekdays..my lunch hour. I don't have any pals who work near me to see for lunch and my gym is less than a mile away..I have to excuses not to then. I'm usually wiped when I get home and I'm not a morning person. Lately I've been throwing in a Bodypump class on Wednesday nights...but I much prefer having my workout done before I get home.
Weekends..pretty much when I wake up before my brain knows what I'm up to and tries to talk me into staying in bed  . I have more time and can workout for longer. Saturdays I do a long cardio on the elliptical then hit the steam room/hot tub with my boyfriend. Sundays I take two workout classes in a row (Bodypump and Zumba). I really try to take advantage of the weekends since my weekday workouts are only 30-35 minutes0 -
I bike to work some days and walk/run every lunch time through the week. I normally gym at 6.30 am on a Friday as I don't work then, and at 8am on Sundays.
If it all goes wrong I try and walk/do a workout dvd every day!0 -
props to all you who get up early! I couldn't do that. (I have tried). I excercise once I get my older 3 off to school. Then my 5 y/o plays/watches me while I work out at about 9:30am.0

In the past, I've worked out in the afternoon/early evening. I had tried mornings, but had a hard time in getting up in time.
Now, even though I'm still not a morning person, I tend to wake up around 5 or 6. So, I've decided to try a.m workouts again. I've been at this for 5 days, and already I feel better and more energized, but I'm not getting a restful sleep at night. I would rather have that energy during the day, and be able to sleep well at night --- which means, I can get up early enough to workout the a.m (I hope).
I guess we'll see how it goes!0 -
Monday-Thursday at about 5:30pm I can be found in WOWY (it's a Beachbody thing)....Saturday & Sunday about 11am. I would work out before work but I don't get much sleep (1 hour & 15 minute commute one way) so I'm not getting up at 3:30am to work out.0

During the week, if dog walking, early evening before their dinner when my Partner gets home to look after Son. Any other exercise is when ever there is a class on in the evening.
At Weekends, early afternoon so I can take the dogs over the fields for some off-lead.
Not a morning person and I have to be at work by 8:00am but I'll be taking over the morning dog walk soon - well, as soon as I can drag myself out of bed by six AM. Nearly made it this morning!!!!0 -
I work out in the evening after I get home from work doing the week day. I would like to workout first thing in the am but since my workout consist of Zumba and I live in a apartment building on the 3rd floor, my neighbor below may not appreciate my fat but bouncing over her head at 6am! LMAO0
-
No choice but to work out after work around 5pm. I live about 1.5 hours from home, so I already get up really early to make it to work on time, and then I stop at the gym on the way home and usually don't get home till 8 or so.. so it's long days for me.0
