so my cousin told me about this 17 day diet this past weekend. has anyone heard anything about it? thouhgts?

Is this the diet devised by Dr. Mike Moreno? You have four cycles to work through.
Cycle 1: Accelerate. Encourages rapid weight loss, cleansing and fat burning. Discourages fat storage.
Cycle 2: Activate. Resets the metabolism.
Cycle 3: Achieve. Develop good eating habits, re-teach yourself how to eat carbs.
Cycle 4: Arrive. A combination of the first three Cycles. On weekends, enjoy your favorite foods.0 -

just like any diet plan should be repetitie for more that 4 weeks. You want to change it up because your body adapts very well and very easily.0

I just got this book.. very interesting. Basically 4 cycles. The first is the most stringent; basically lean protein and certain veggies only are allowed, no carbs at all. The 2 & 3 cycles gradually add & allow for other foods such as lean red meat and certain carbs and then the 4th cycle is a maintenance type cycle.
I didn't realize when I ordered it that you're basically not allowed carbs for the first 2 cycles, 44 days total. I don't know how well I'm going to do with that, I already know that it will be next to impossible. But I am going to make my own modifications and allow a very small amount of carbs and only the correct types (whole grains, oats, brown rice, etc).

The diet is actually pretty easy so far. I'm not 'hungry' but still craving junk foods (of course!) :ohwell: You can fill up on unlimited lean proteins and veggies from the list; I'm loving the 2 fruits and 2 yogurts per day...but miss the sweets & chips lol. I lost 5 pounds in the first 4 days (yes...lotsa potty-times) and right now I'm on day 7 and not weighing myself because of my period. :grumble: Looking forward to the next cycle for the whole grains!!!0

awesome! i defintiely want to look into it! but from reading everything...the book has to be ordered online through the website. so hopefully put the order in today and then get started when it comes in!0
