"Bump"

I'm kind of new here and see this a lot on responses to peoples posting. What the heck does it mean??

    It's bumping up a thread to the top so its seen :o)

    Sometimes people use it to keep the topic in the "recent posts" so that more people will reply.

    Othertimes, they do it so that it gets added to their "my topics" list and they can remember to look at it later.
