So for those of you who don't know, I'm going through a book called The 1,001 Films to see before you die. The list has actually grown to 1,155(every year they take some off to make room for some new ones). I've decided a few years ago to tackle this project, I also feel like if I can do this then my weight loss goal should be a cakewalk!
Anyway, I'm 774 films in with 380 left to go. I decided I would make my own list, so far this is only from 1902-1949. If you don't like old, foreign or silent films I still highly suggest you try some of these. These are a lot of the films that have helped me change my mind while doing the list.
My reasoning for making this list is because I feel there are a lot of films on that list that are just bad. They included them for various reasons but mostly for being a milestone in film making, not because they're great entertainment.
So here goes, My 1,001(errr how many I end up listing when I'm done) Films to see anytime!:
The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari
The Phantom Carriage
Nosferatu A Symphony Of Terror
Our Hospitality
Sherlock Jr.
Sunrise
The General
The Kid Brother
The Passion Of Joan Arc

I think it's a great selection.
I adore old movies and I always have. I'm growing my collection at home as often as I can.
These are the ones that I've seen:
The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari
Nosferatu A Symphony Of Terror
M
It Happened One Night
A Night At The Opera
Bride Of Frankenstein
Bringing Up Baby
His Girl Friday
The Philadelphia Story
Citizen Kane
The Maltese Falcon
Now, Voyager
Meet Me In St. Louis
The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Big Sleep
It's A Wonderful Life
Rope
All About Eve
And if we're sticking to this theme, I would also definitely add Some Like it Hot, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dark Victory, Dinner at 8, Grand Hotel, Dracula, and I'm going to stop now because I could go on for a long time.0 -

No need to walk away! I love learning new films to watch. I added Dark Victory, Dinner at 8, Grand Hotel all to my Netflix queue. Some Like it Hot, Breakfast at Tiffanys and Dracula would all be great additions! The first two will likely be added as I move on, my list isn't quite to that time period yet0
