Always hungry!

Ever since i started working out more (6 days a week 30 mins to an hour) I am always hungry. I try to eat shortly after working out and have a good amount of food during the day but can never stay satisfied for long. Even in the middle of the night my stomach will start rolling. I drink 2 plus lt of water a day so it cant be that. Any advice?

I dont log my food, i can never stick to it everyday ha. I do eat a low carb, low sugar diet and try to get my daily amount of protein in everyday. Its difficult when living with 3 other people who arent dieting but i think ive done pretty good on the skipping sugary or high fat snacks.Maybe thats why im hungry, everyone around me is eating how i used to so my body is craving it. I dont know ><0

theres a good chance that your not eating enough then but i cant really tell without knowing how many cals you eat in a typical day. its hard to advise if you dont track, but try eating more filling foods, lots of high fibre and high protein foods like veggies and lean meats
eta; it could also just be cravings from your lack of carbs. you're body will adjust to this after awhile, or you can start to reintroduce them into your diet0 -
I keep a lot of 'free foods' for when I am too hungry. Sugar free jello, lettuce, and most veggies are nearly free. When I started this I had a massive appetite, I would eat giant plates of raw mixed veggies. When I get super hungry like you I make sure I actually get full instead of sated and it usually makes me feel better for hours. Things I eat to get full are usually 300-500g of potato with mix veggies mashed in or a half can of tomatoes turned into soup, stuff like that. I had to be inventive.0

Could it be what you are eating? I have/had a similar issue - I feel a gnawing feeling in my lower abdomen that kind of feels like hunger
But what I thought was hunger was actually gas/a form of IBS. My doctor suggested I limit raw veggies and try an over the counter gas pill (Phazyme).
That has helped me......might not be the same thing for you0 -
Yeah a lot of people try to limit what they eat early thinking, "I need to limit what I'm eating." These persons end up eating not nearly enough so by the afternoon or evening: major calorie deficit. Rinse Repeat.0

I might be concentrating on eating small portions too much. I have noticed i get full alot quicker. Maybe i need to up it abit.Im pretty sure i eat around 12-1500 cals a day right now but i will be uping it for when i work out harder. Ill try eating larger portions for a few days see if that helps0

I havent noticed any change there but maybe i should try it for awhile never know0 -

2. Not enough fruits and vegetables (fiber).
3. Not enough lean protein.

Ive been avoiding processed foods like that plague haha
I could probably do with more veggis.
Its just difficult when the rest of the house are burger eaters.

Protein, fat, and fiber are the foods that keep us feeling fuller and more satisfied longer. But if you're not tracking your food then I'm not sure how you'd know if you're getting enough of each.
Meal timing strategies like intermittent fasting can make a big difference for some people. Certain people do really well with 6 small meals a day and others feel like gnawing their own arm off if they have to eat like that.
If you're burning enough through exercise then 1200-1500 calories may still not be enough for you. If your calories are accurate (again, you're not logging so it's tough to say) then you may need to eat a little more, depending on your stats.0 -
I agree - I do intermittent fasting - different versions at different times. I find it REALLY helps with not only my hunger levels but my cravings as well.0

Eat more fat. That's what helped me when I reduced my carbs.

If you are eating a lot of raw veggies then cut down on raw and eat more cooked veggies. Raw veggies are harder to digest than cooked veggies. Are you drinking enough water? If you have a high protein diet you need to drink a LOT of water to help it digest. Protein doesn't break down like carbs do so your body needs a lot of water to break them down. Remember if you are hungry you can eat as many veggies as you can handle. You can also have up to 4-5 cups of fruits a day. So if you are hungry, eat just make it a healthy snack.0
