Motivation is DOA

Hi.
I just wrote a blog post with the same title, so I won't go into all the details. The short of it is, life is weighing on me and I can't find the motivation to consistently do what I need to do in order to build a healthier life. I know all the right reasons I should lose weight & be healthy & yes, those reasons scare me enough & I know that they're serious, but I'm still very much plagued by emotional weight. Anyway..
I'm here b/c I'm trying to climb out from underneath all this. Is you want details, you can read my blog post. I'm not sure that I'm making much sense, but I'm trying to change my life. Like, really change my life, so the first change I'm making is just being open & honest. So, here I am.

Hi there,
I don't know how to access Blog posts from here (not computer savvy). Still tho' I wanted to respond to your idea of motivation being DOA and all the issues that it's causing you.
Now this is just my opinion but I honestly think "Motivation" is highly overrated. If you can't summon this feeling don't let that defeat you....look around for something else to inspire you. I mean no-one needs to summon motivation to clean their teeth everyday.....we are all just aware that there are consequences, all pretty bad if you don't keep up with the commitment....it's the same with dieting and exercise.
What about having a mental challenge with yourself like walking for 2 hours non-stop.
Running next - increasing speed and distance.
Decreasing you intake of empty calories and subbing in more fruits and veg.
Decreasing BF% and increasing your weights when/if you lift.
Anything and everything that makes this new way of life inspiring and interesting for you.
I know I am at a disadvantage here without insight into your Blog. But the truth is life is always going to throw up obstacles and difficulties for us to deal with. Your health is your MOST precious possession....without your health everything in life becomes incredibly difficult if not downright impossible and yes I do speak from experience here.
I wish you all the best. Look inside yourself my love....you alone, you the human being is really all the motivation to look after yourself the you really need.

The good news is that exercise is proven to reduce stress levels! I mean this is in the nicest way possible but instead of using stress to not workout use it as your motivation to work out!
Sometimes after a looooong day at work I have to force myself to go to the gym even though my mind is thinking of every reason why I should go home and veg out on the couch. But time and time again after the first 10 minutes in the gym I find my stress melting away. It takes will power but you can do it!0 -
I know the feeling. I have been dealing with anxiety disorder for over a decade and battled PTSD from November 2012 to December 2013. I know sometimes it can feel ****ing IMPOSSIBLE to get out an exercise/eat right.
My thing is: I do the best I can. I try and eat healthy as I can (if I eat crap a day or two so what) If I AM truly hungry I eat and if I go over, I only get upset if I went over by eating crap. If I go over eating healthy, I don't stress.
As for exercise: WALKING and an MP3 player of some sort with music you love is key. Once you walk till your tired, try to go one block or 5 min more, then try a bit more and build up.
Bottom line: DONT STRESS and try your best!0
