Hi everyone,
So on Tuesday me and my friends did 1hr doing weights it was leg day which I intend on doing this program 3X a week, the program is:
5 sets of barbell squats doing 5 reps but alternate weights
20kg
15kg
10kg
5 sets of leg extensions again going 5 reps but a
Ternate weights
30kg
50kg
70kg
5 sets of leg curls on the machine same reps and sets again
50kg
70kg
Dumbell lunge 4 sets doing 4 reps with
20kg
20 squats with. 10kg kettlebells
Then after we attempted doing body attack les mills which we couldn't t really do due to jelly legs, yesterday we work up all aching like mad so did 3 mile walk today I wanted to do bodypump but again I feel so stiff and bruised that I'm going to after walk again
I did stretch after am just wondering does this get easier will I get used to it I did enjoy it and was sweating like mad and a good work out but I do enjoy my cardio and classes I don't want if effecting this ? Should one day alone be dedicated to my weight program then that's it am I supposed to do nothing day after? X

The first few weeks suck. You will be really sore, but you have to keep pushing through it. After about 3 weeks your body should get used to it and it won't feel bad anymore.
But stick to lifting weights. I'd suggest you go with a well structured full-body routine if you aren't on one already. You'll get better results from lifting weights than you will from being a cardio bunny.0 -
ah ok thanks for that! i will be sticking to it for sure but with my busy work shecuel means i can only do it 3X a week and i only want to work my thighs and bum so will stick to the above routine x0

I posted something similar yesterday as I was in so much pain with my arms after lifting on Monday evening.
I had my second personal trainer session booked for last night and had to reschedule. It's now Thursday morning and I am STILL hurting!
I am gently stretching my arms and trying to keep them active so the muscles don't tense up even more.
My thread was titled "Lifting.....Ouch!!!) if you want to read the replies I got in there as I am sure you can apply them to yourself too.
But anyway, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone! I'm heading to the gym tonight and going to try and gentle workout and a good stretch and hopefully will be ok for my rescheduled PT session which is now Sunday morning!0 -
Yeah it will do that, it's normal when you're starting out just stick with it and it should get easier.
BTW you're doing yourself a disservice not doing some upper body work too. You won't Hulk out, you will burn more fat and get faster results all over though.
Good luck!0
