First 5 miler in years!

I caught a cold on Xmas night, that hung on for 2 1/2 weeks. Then I finally started getting over it, ONLY TO CATCH ANOTHER ONE!!! :(

Anyway, I've been training for a 5 miles race (held in March) in my hometown that I used to run every year, back when I used to run regularly. I've been so bummed that I can't train as much as I wanted to for being sick. Also, I have a chronic pain condition that I've found is best managed through exercise.

I was sitting on the couch last night, stuffed up and sore from no exercise, when I decided *(&%*&%(& it, I'm going for a walk on the treadmill.

That felt pretty good, so my walk became a jog, and my jog went for 4 miles, and THEN I decided "Why the heck not, I'll try it".

I completed my first 5 miler in at least 3 years. Sick.

My run is saved, and I think I might be headed for being in better shape now than I was in 2005.
