Hitting a wall

I have been stuck on the same weight and actually have gained one pound over the last two weeks. I am eating around 1200 cal daily and staying under on carbs, sugar, and fats. I walk about 50 minutes daily and burn about 400 cal daily doing this. My daily cal goal is 1600 but I am well under this. I weigh 267lbs but would like to get down to around 205. I don't have access to a gym with weights currently, any suggestions? I started at 307lbs in February.:frown:

To lose 68 lbs., set your goal no higher than 1.5 lbs.—which is way more than 1,200 calories. Log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly.

Open your diary for personalized advice, but if you're gaining weight then you're underestimating your food &/or overestimating your burns.

    Congrats on your weight loss.
It is o.k. to gain a pound or two here and there from week to week. Maybe look at your numbers for over a month. Keep in mind that weight loss slows a lot as you get closer to goal.
If your daily goal is 1600, you should be eating closer to that. "Well under" is not good.
Keep walking. Figure out how to get weights into your plan.

you don't mention your height, but assuming you're over 5' 2" and are usually eating 1200 calories per day, i'm guessing you aren't accurately weighing and measuring your food, which seems to be the most common reason people don't lose weight. if you are accurately logging your calories, you should see a doctor and have your thyroid checked.

btw, why do you think you're burning 400 calories on your walks? are you using a heart rate monitor or an app or the MFP exercise thingy? i ask because you could be burning less than you think.

A 1 pound gain in 2 weeks probably is not a gain at all, but temporary water weight.

a.) Every now and then increase your activity. Go another 5-10 minutes on your walk, or push yourself to go faster/add hills/etc. Something to challenge you physically.

b.) make sure you're very honest with your intake. Weigh solids, account for cooking oils, condiments, drinks.

c.) 40 pounds in ~5 months is awesome. You won't see a loss each & every week. Keeping doing a & b and the scale should decrease overall.

400 calories burned in 50 minutes for 267 pounds is not unreasonable. I burn 150-175 in 50 minutes walking casually. Or 300 in 50 minutes walking briskly (For me that means 4.0-4.2mph). I'm 141 pounds. A heavier body uses more energy at an activity.

Saw someone in my feed register 1000+ calories for an hour run today. I don't find that likely at all...

I am measuring my food when possible at home. I am using a combination of outside and treadmill walking. The treadmill takes into account my weight, speed, and incline.

Measuring is terribly inaccurate. Weigh everything you eat—even packaged foods. (You're in for quite a shock!)

All calorie burns are estimates. (Some people reduce the margin of error by eating back half their exercise calories.)

The bottom line is that if you've gained weight for two weeks in a row, you're not eating at a deficit.

1200 is bare minimal, look up your correct TDEE via free online calculators. You may find if you eat more of the correct foods you will start to loose weight. Sounds weird I know. But your body needs fuel. Also try upping your exercise- add in some jogging or bike riding or something else extra. Good luck.
