Wine, beer or vodka?

Are these all the same when it comes to losing weight? Just watch the calories or is one a better choice than the others?

Just watch the calories.0

Spirits like vodka are the lowest calorie options, but the mixers can get you into trouble.0

Watch the calories in BOTH the alcohol itself (whichever you choose) and if you use any mixers, say with the vodka. That's where a lot of extra calories and sugar come from. Plus, if drinking causes you to munch mindlessly then that is a hazard you (as in all of us) should take into consideration.0

Fit into your calories by sacrificing other carbs on days you drink. I don't drink that much at all anyway until football season personally. And by then I'll be at maintainance calories and eventually bulk.0

For me the real question is what do I want to drink.
If its a nice steak I would really want a glass of red wine. A hamburger fresh of the gille - def a beer. Just looking to get tipsy - choose the vodka and a low cal mixer like diet soda. The big thing is making sure I have enough calories saved for it.0 -
A piece of interesting information.....I read somewhere that since alcohol is a poison to your body, when you drink it your liver will work hard to digest that first and store everything you eat for later digestion. If this is true (which who knows if what you read is true!), people should try to enjoy alcohol after their meal. Easier said than done, especially when the beverage compliments the meal. I've also heard red wine has heart health benefits, so I stick to that0

Even if true I'm not sure why order-of-digestion matters at all.0 -
