Not Losing Weight but losing inches/slimming down?

Hi all.

I lost 200+ pounds in almost three years. Recently, my weight has been up (mostly) and down. I gained 2 pounds (183.0) from last time I weighed in (181.0). My sister and parents do not see where I have visibly gained weight. It could be that I am gaining muscle or losing inches/fat off my body.

Here my stats about myself:

23 years old (currently on summer break from college)
5' 7
Current Weight: 183.0
Exercise: 45-60 mins/4 times a week (2 days cardio/ 2 day strength I alternate)
MFP has me eating 1,750 calories a day. I eat lots of fruits, veggies, protein, complex carbs. I eat ice cream and sweets about once or twice a week (on the weekend). I practice portions better.
Water: I drink 10-12 cups a week

I also measured my hips and waist today. My hips is 41 inches and my waist is 38 inches. I need some friendly advice! Is there anything else I need to do to get rid the rest of the fat on my body? I want to do this naturally without any surgery at all.

(P.S.-- I don't have a current picture of me in my workout clothes right now but I will post it later).

Congrats on the 200lbs loss! That's amazing! If you want to drop more pounds, you may have to lower your calorie goal... or keep it the same and tighten up on your logging. You probably wouldn't gain weight at 1750 a day, so you may be eating a little more than you think. The lighter you are, the less calories you need, so it's much easier to blow your deficit. Or....how long was it in between weigh ins? Is it possible that it's temporary weight weight gain? I fluctuate within about 4 pounds constantly.

At your size, a healthy loss is .5 lb. per week. (The less you have to lose, the more slowly it comes off. That's just the way the human body works.) The smaller deficit will also help you transition to maintenance.

The margin of error is much smaller now than when you started, so you need to log everything you eat & drink even more accurately & even more honestly.

The advice in the Sexypants post worked for me: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-Sexypants

I know this is completely off topic but did anybody lose the weight by taking a supplement (e.g.--Vitamin D, Calcium, etc.) or not?

You lose weight by eating fewer calories than you burn. Period.

The Sexypants post should be required reading for all MFPers: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-Sexypants

your weight loss quite an achievement!

supplements don't work for weight loss. protein drinks work sometimes because they have less calories than the meals they're replacing. cutting calories or burning more through exercise does work. and cutting calories is a lot easier and easier to do accurately, as it's hard to know exactly how many calories you burn when exercising.

you could step up the intensity of your workouts a bit, if you wanted to burn a little more and build more muscle (which burns more fat).

btw, i drink 6 to 8 cups of water per day to stay hydrated, which is good for your skin, kidneys and supposedly other body parts, as well ;-)
