Hi everyone,
I'm 164cm tall, I have been slowly losing weight over the past year, and have got down from around 9 stone 10 ish to 8 stone 4.
I was around 8 stone 4 or so when I finished growing when I was 17 (now almost 22). Over the few years after I left school I slowly put on weight and then during my first year at uni got up to 9 stone 10. Last summer I lost 10 pounds, and then stayed at 9 stone for a while.
Over the past few months I realised I was still unhappy and wanted to tone up,and get back to 8 and a half stone ish as that was where I was at when I stopped growing. I have now got back down to 8 stone 4, and I am excercising every day (squats, lunges, crunches, light weights etc) for around 45 minutes. I have seen a difference in my muscle tone and my clothes are much looser. I eat around 750 calories some days, more on others, and so it probably works out at about 1000 a day.
HOWEVER, I still don't feel like I look as small I should look for what I weigh. I have used several body fat calcs, and they come back as around 21-22% and so I know that I don't have a really really high body fat percentage so that isn't the problem. I've set my goal as 8 stone but i'm worried I won't be happy when I get there either. At the moment my measurements are Waist: 25, Hips: 35.5, Bicep when flexed: 10, Wrist: 5.75, Largest part of thigh (near the top): 21, Mid thigh: 18.5. I'm not having any problem losing, but I want to know why I'm not physically seeing much difference in terms of size when I look in the mirror, even though i'm losing inches and clothes are getting bigger on me. I'm just super confused, any help would be great!
Thanks

Heya,
You sound like you have reached a goal that many people (like me!) would love to be at.
I'm a bit worried you aren't eating enough! How about you eat at maintenance, eg 1800 kcal+, for a little while, or even aim to bulk up muscle? Toning might help you feel better about your body rather than trying to loose! x0 -
Gosh you sound like you are super slim!! I am also 5ft 4ins, is that your height?? I have just reached within the healthy BMI range at 67 kgs. I thought that was not too bad, but Im thinking now compared to you I must be super fat!! Do you know your BMI? I was thinking that I would like to be around 64kgs as a final goal or 10stone 3lbs, but having read your post , I feel wayyy to heavy. So I have a long way to go it seems which is a bit disappointing as hubby just said I look nice and slim. My waist is much smaller than half my height which is supposed to be an indication of a proper weight. Just wondering have you tried this as a measurement?
Anyway, best of luck.0 -

I'm guessing the "difference in my muscle tone" would be a loss of muscle eating so few calories, there is no way on earth you're building muscle eating so little :flowerforyou:

Look at some images online of women at various body fat percentages. Find which one most resembles the shape you'd like to be in. Then you can work backward from that to find your goal weight.
For example, you say you're at 8 stone 4 lbs, which if my math is correct, works out to 116 lbs. You also say you're at 21-22% body fat, so for our purposes, we'll say 21.5%. That puts your current lean body mass at 91.06 lbs (116*(100%-21.5%)).
Now let's say you look online and see that you want to be at 18%. Divide 91.06 lbs by .815 (100%-18.5% = 81.5% = 0.815). That gives you a new target weight of 112 lbs. Voila!
So just pick a BF% that works for you, and you can easily find your new target weight using the same process.0
