Hi

I was wondering how i would record a homemade smoothie on myfitnesspal diary.

Would it be the individual ingredients, ie..

Raw Apple with Skin
Orange with Peel
Yogurt

or would it just come under apple, orange and yogurt smoothie.

Would the calories be any different because its blended instead of eating the fruit on its own. I was just wonder because the digestive side is slightly different because of the food being blended.

Hope that makes sense.

Many thanks

Claire

I'd just put the whole ingredients separately because the calories are exactly the same no matter how you eat them

    Hi Claire

I post each ingredient on its own. Depending on the quantity and size of what i have used. everyone is different I guess. When you have done it enough it gets easier and quicker. x

You can enter the food in "my meals" name it, and then use that entry whenever you make the smoothie.

Add them individually and then I click 'remember meal' for ease of adding the same smoothie next time round.

I find the recipe builder pretty lame mind, don't know why but it doesn't find foods from the database as well as the normal function.

Agree - log individual ingredients and create remember meal or if you do the same all the time create a recipe

I calculate my own smoothies by the ingredients. If I make it often, I make a macro out of it in the meal planner, so I don't have to look everything up all the time.

Places like Jamba Juice are listed in the database.

Add it under recipes and serving size for 1 or 2.. I name everything after myself so it's easy to find : Like Tandi Bullet Blackberry Smoothie...
