Logging calories burned with an HRM

I recently purchased a Polar FT7, and I plan to use it today for the first time.
I was curious as to how I should log this into my account.
I don't have the loop thing, and I won't be getting it soon. Any other ways people log those calories?
I'd appreciate the help!

Just create an exercise and after every event add it in. I just my Loop and bluetooth HRM for tracking all my HIIT workouts.0

I usually just find the exercise closest to what I did and then change the calorie amount to what my HRM gave me. Or if it's not in the database you can create your own exercise.0
