i went 3500 calories over my goal

Why is this a success story, you ask? because i logged every last bite i took that day, which I have never managed to do before. Also, who knew a 5'6 19 year old girl like me could eat almost 5000 calories? go me! (not promoting doing this on a normal basis though)

- back on track tomorrow, gotta love religious holidays :)

    Well done for posting.

A lot of people would consider the overeat as a massive fail and would fall off the wagon permanently.

    Remember ... 3,500 is - at most - a 1lb true gain.

You can get that off again in a week or so.

Tomorrow is a new day :-)

your body might hang onto a bunch of the carbs but flush a lot of fat. its probably not even a 1 lb gain, I used to fall off the wagon completely after a day like that but now I just smile and think about how yummy it was and keep on keepin on. As my 12 year old son says, slow and steady wins the race.

I have feeding frenzy days periodically. I think it does help keep you in perspective to log all of it, no matter how much or what. It actually makes it feel a little more satisfying to your cravings (I think!). Then climb right back on that calorie counting exercising horse and continue the journey. good luck!

I also log everything, even the odd rare over day. You're only trying to fool yourself if you don't.

Great job logging it! I'm also trying to be completely honest and log everything - on Saturday I had 3500 calories and didn't work out. On monday I had lost 4 pounds - go figure?

good on you for logging it all! a lot of people give up if they have one day where they eat more than usual - you keep going, and i applaud you :)

Because weight loss and gain is not something that happens in a 24 hour period (immediate). The 4 pounds you lost could have been from activity a week previous to the binge.

I agree with you - that's a success story for sure! I am doing the same since logging on MFP. I told myself that this was not about being perfect - it was about me being realistic and finding what works for me. And I promised to give myself time to do this - no set time goals because that doesn't work for me.

Anyway, glad to see this post under Success Stories!!!
