Hey y'all,

I recently bought a bag of apples from wal-mart and on the bag it said that they where 130 calorie large apples but they are the same size as the small apple that i log for 80 calories. What should i do?

Certain apples really do have more sugar and more calories than others, i.e. a large Fuji has around 110, a large Gala 80. The calories on a package are right, just watch which apples you're getting :)

It might depend on the type of apples. Some have different amounts of sugar, which would explain why some have more calories than others.

Go with the 130 and next time you have that "small" apple reassess the size.
  • I hate to say it, but I would probably go with the information on the bag since it's going to be accurate to that particular apple. There could be some other factors that make it different too. If you had granny smiths, I would sure help you out with eating one!

Weigh them and log them by weight

Just wanted to let you know . I buy the small gala apples which is 2 1/2 inches. They are roughly about 70 calorie. I hope this helps

My answer is also similar: 2 in diameter apple is a small apple with 60 calorie, 15 carbs, weighs about 4oz, unpeeled and that is considered 1 serving.
