Hi everyone. I just started the PHUL method of training this week. I am just curious if anyone else has tried it and what they think. I just finished doing another 4 day split that had a mix between compound lifts and accessory lifts. I liked it but I was hitting a plateau and getting too exhausted. I am hoping this will refocus me on completing the important lifts. Any advice or input is appreciated.

I haven't done that- but I know enough people who do to know it works.
There is no right or wrong answer with programs- pick on that appears to meet your long term goals- if it works- keep working it. If not- run the program out (truthfully) and then change at the end of the session.
I'm running Sheiko currently- well I'm done with my 6 weeks actually- starting a new one next week.
next week will be my 4th cycle- I don't think it's working- but I want to give it a fair shake down to really know that it's not just me- but the program doesn't work for me. There is no advantage to jumping around- esp if you aren't training for an event (even less advantage in that case)
pick a goal- use the program. It'll be fine- most people can get so much out of a program by simply committing to do it regularly.0 -
I am trying to stick with each program I do for about 3 months. I have been training for a tough mudder so I am focusing on getting stronger. The PHUL is fairly similar to what I have done. I will check out Sheiko too. I am always open to suggestions.0

I've ran P.H.U.L. by Brandon Campbell. It works for sure. It took some getting used to for me doing heavy deadlifts after heavy squats. I was cutting at the time I started and it took a toll on me. I eventually split the two and moved my deads to the second leg day. I still do it now with the deadlifts on the second leg day and will continue. My deadlift also suffered with doing it after squats cause I didn't have enough to pull the same weight, so another reason for me to split them. That is a great program though. Enjoy.0
