Whey Isolate recommendations (available in UK)

I currently drink MyProtein Impact Whey Isolate. I have been pretty happy with it so far in terms of results but I have been disappointed with the last couple of batches - the taste and texture is very inconsistent. So I'm looking for recommendations for Whey Isolate from a different brand/manufacturer.

Before anyone asks - I take protein isolate rather than whey protein because of the calories and macros. Isolate is much lower in calories, fat and carbs, whilst still having a high protein content. I know it's more expensive than whey but it suits my needs.

Can anyone recommend a good isolate, that tastes good and reasonably priced? FYI It must be available in the UK. Thanks!

I recommend bulkpowders.co.uk. Their vanilla flavour is very yummy unlike other ones I have tried which taste very false. FYI - I am in the UK.

Hi there - have you contacted MyProtein about the quality issue? They seem like a pretty responsive company and I'd be surprised if they didn't try to put it right if something has gone wrong with their quality control. (/no affiliation with Myprotein other than as a customer/)

They have very good customer service I'll give them that. I wasn't happy with one batch I received so sent me a new one free of charge and didn't request that I sent the 'faulty' batch back. However, I am still not completely satisfied as the product is different from the first lot I had. I know it's purely the protein which is the most important but I can't drink something that I don't consider appetising. I suppose with it being a cheaper product than most it's sort of expected. I am reluctant to purchase again in another flavour in case the same issue arises again.

Matrix does the job for me, but I'd avoid Ice Cream Sundae flavour as it's a bit too sweet (even though the sugar level is very very low).

    Matrix Anabolic Gold.

Another satisfied UK customer of MyProtein here (although I'm waiting for my first delivery in over 2 years, so I hope they haven't recently slipped).

That said, whenever I'm looking to buy, I always check this thread:-

I always go for unflavoured - better macros!

Only (sort of) kidding. I find the flavours always get very sickly after a while.
  • As others have said bulk powders, I also love Hench Nutrition, they always get me my order the next day and I'm offshore so that almost never happens! They don't have many fancy flavours but if you don't care about that I think they're worth a try.

I hear you about not wanting to risk ordering a flavour you might not like; it is a shame that they have changed their mix / flavours somehow. I just ordered natural chocolate in the isolate and it is actually much better than expected, although I've only had it with semi skimmed milk not water. Mixes well, not too cloying. I wish that these companies had sample sizes in all of their flavours because I don't want to buy 1kg of something that is gross (to me anyway)....always good to hear of other companies out there at any rate.
