Five miles on a bike is not a lot. It is a start. But you have to get more miles in to lose weight. I ride about thirty to forty miles a day and I am only able to lose about 2 maybe 3 pounds a week.

Make sure you are eating at a calorie deficit. Riding your bike 5 miles a day is not going to cause you to lose weight if you aren't joining it with eating at a calorie deficit. Track your foods

Just because you ride a bike to work it doesn't mean you will necessarily lose weight. Open your diary, track what you eat. If you burn more than you eat there in NO WAY you won't be losing weight. Make your measurements accurate

i would check your calorie intake as if thats in check you will lose the weight. When i started it was just 20 mins of 30 day shred every day. not alot of exercise but i still lost weight.

I do a 6 mile round trip every day (big hill each way). As said it's good for your health but diet and calorie deficit is what loses weight unfortunately..

You have to do some serious exercise to burn of significant calories..

    Um.... no.

I agree five miles on a bike isn't much, but that doesn't mean the OP wouldn't lose weight.

OP, for better feedback could you open your diary?

How do you estimate your calories?

    Do you eat those back?
