So it's not fat... I think it's muscle because It's very hard when I flex but 5 inches in 3 days?!? That's crazy! I started doing weight training four days ago but I didn't think I would bulk up this fast and it's definitely not what I want! I can't even suck in for some reason and it's super uncomfortable when I try to. Could be bloating but I can see the difference in the muscle.. Any ideas on what's causing it and how I can get rid of it without all the muscle turning to fat would be helpful!!

Correct. Bulking takes a lot of time.
    Could be bloating

Some of it probably is bloat.

I would bet money you measured in a different spot. Did you measure yourself? Even a bit higher or lower can cause several inches difference.

    My guess:
    - Measured in a slightly different spot than before
    combined with:
    - Muscle "Swelling" from the new weight lifting routine

Just wanted to clear up a misconception you have in there.

Muscle does not "magically convert to fat".

Double check that you are measuring in the exact same spot and relax. Like you said, it could be bloating. Wait a week and check again.

Here's a list in order of what it could be -

    1) gas
    2) IBS
    3) bloating
    4) food
    5) PMS/water retention
    6) allergic reaction
    .
    .
    .
    1,000,000) muscle.

incorrect measurement or bloating or a combination of the 2.

Unless you have been doing daily eating competitions?

Yeah. You didn't gain 5" of muscle in 3 days. It's likely your period. Or a food baby. Or a real baby. Or you were sucking it in when you measured the first time. Or you measured in a different spot. Or, or, or, a million other things that don't involve gaining 5" of muscle in 3 days.

I am going through some major bloating at the moment. my pants won't button up which were loose last week...

I still couldn't figure out what could have triggered it...I did have some cheese and nuts...
