I am actually taking this week off from they gym to try to recuperate from exertion headaches. They started last week after increasing my bench press weight and have been ongoing as a dull ache in the side and back of my head. I found a good article about it.

    https://www.apexllc.org/articles/exertion-headaches/

This recommends a very long recovery time which I am not doing. I'm going to give it 7 days off and try to lift on Monday again to see how I feel. I hope I can continue to lift heavy without taking extensive time off.

    Hope you feel better soon.

PS- My headache went away and came back when I exerted myself again (no pun intended) with weights and some intense cardio (burpees). The last time I worked shoulders and arms I even got stomach cramps the pain was so bad... it is so hard to take time off but I just want to get better soon so I can go back fast :(

Most people I know that suffer from this have relief when they:

Don't tense up their neck all the time
Learn proper breathing technique when lifting
