Or is it most likely water weight? Thanks!

You're going to have to look at things as a general trend, not the day to day or week to week. Natural body weight fluctuations can be 1-5 Lbs day to day either way. 1.5 Lbs in 3 days is mostly water and waste...this is normal when you first get going, things will even out shortly.0

I've been dieting for a little over three months now, and have lost over 25lbs. This is the first time I'm noticing such a drastic change so quickly. I'm not eating high sodium foods, and drink at least 100oz of water a day. It's just weird, lol.0 -
The past two weeks i've dropped 6lbs...and i was dropping 1lb/week for the few months before that. I don't understand it either...but it happens sometimes.0

Some advice I received early on was that if I was going to weigh daily (and I was... a bit obsessive about it, to tell the truth), to log the weight in a spreadsheet that calculated my average weight for the whole week, and to only think about THAT number. Day to day fluctuations can be all over the board for a lot of reasons, but using the averaging method "evens out" those fluctuations to give you a better sense of what's going on.
It also avoids the emotional trap of going "whooo hoooo!" if you happen to weigh on a low point day and the "OMG --- I ate NOTHING!!" if you happen to weigh on a high point day.0 -
TOM? I generally notice I gain 1-4lbs before, and then quickly lose 4-6lbs in the week following.0
