Fitness + Nerdy Fandoms?

Ok, so I'm new here and hoping to nice and lean for various life activities. Also, I'm pretty nerdy. I pretty much like talking about many fandoms. If I don't know something, I'm usually inclined to learn about it (time permitting, of course). ...So... yea... That's me....

Muggles just don't get it.
They never do... They always fear what they don't understand. Not like us respectable witches and wizards of course.0 -
Welcome to MFP. I enjoy rpg and other gaming and have found Wasteland Warriors to be a perfect blend of rpg, weight loss goals with accountability (we gain experience points and level up based in large part to weight loss) and fitness goals.
Search groups for Wasteland Warriors and enjoy the quest to a achieving your goals.0 -
Hi!
I'm the same, super fangirl
Huge on cartoons and comics, but almost equally 'committed' to games and manga.0 -

RPG/Computer Gaming/Music/Pop Culture/Photography/Tech geek here. FRs welcome, with a hello message, especially if it includes a doge pic or other meme.
Keep your eyes on the goal: Being able to outrun everyone else when the zombie apocalypse strikes.0 -

And keep your eyes peeled for nerdy fitness challenges announced in the forums. There's currently Doctor Who and Harry Potter ones running, although I don't think they let people in now that they've started.0 -
…this is brilliant!
How do you join the potter weight loss challenge?0 -
OMG your profile pic. I'm a big LOZ fan!0

Another nerd trying to get (back) in shape. Not gonna lie, a lot of my motivation is to look good in my cosplay, haha.0

Total nerd here (marine biologist), and decided to combine my love of zombies with my need for fitness through the Zombies, Run! apps. Started with C25k, now doing Season 1 of the regular app. *Love* being immersed in a post-apocalyptic story while running... and being chased by zombies!0

Nerd right here. Video Games, comics, Star Wars, and B horror movies0

Oooh! That sounds super interesting! I'll have to take a look into getting some of those apps then.0 -
I'm on my third week on MFP. Feel free to add me. I adore Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones. Fitness does not come naturally to nerds, and sometimes I feel I'm drowning in a sea of jocks. Not going to lie, for a while I felt that my deteriorating physical condition showcased my dedication to intellect. I had just read the Republic, by Plato, and I felt that focusing on my physical self detract from pondering the intelligible world. :P Never get too inspired by classical philosophers. Just a rule of thumb.0

The Geek Squid looked too fun to pass up, for anyone looking to congregate.0 -
Feel free to add me to the list. My favorite exercises including reading fanfic (mostly harry potter but some dr. who and southern vampire/true blood) on my kindle while hitting the recumbent bike and walking the dogs while Zombie Run plays on my ear phones. I'm also in the Dr. Who challenge.0

I love Harry Potter, GoT, and playing video games (People say I'm a casual though... but meh).0
