Hoots mon, I am totally gutted at how much calories haggis carries. My favourite food is no longer an option until I reach my target weight. What can eat on Burns night; any suggestions?

Lol thanks for the suggestion but haggis is a main course. But I will take your advice for a lighter choice of desert.0

I think I would allow myself the indulgence, one night a year, rather than mess with a good tradition and recipe (all my ancestors are from around Aberdeenshire). I did run across this baked haggis article, though, if you want to try to reduce fat.

BTW, Scotland.org just released a free app for the iPhone with the complete works of Burns.

Eat the haggis!!! I've never had the pleasure, but I would like to try it some day when we visit Scotland. Eating it on special occasions is perfectly fine. Think of it as a "cheat" meal, then go back to clean eating. Best of health to you!0
