Not losing

I am staying at or below my daily calorie count, but I have only lost 1 pound in 3 weeks...could I be eating too few calories?

Are you weighing everything and logging accurately?
  • No I haven't been weighing just measuring. I've been estimating chicken & meat

You need to weigh and log accurately (don't use measuring cups) chances are you are not eating at a calorie defecit

^^^This. Run over to Walmart (my favorite store in the whole wide world :grumble: ) and pick up a digital scale for about $20. While you're there run over to the fabric department and pick up a sewing tape measure so you can not only weigh your progress but measure yourself, too.

Weigh everything that's a solid. Measure everything that's a liquid. Log it all. Do those three things every day and you'll be on your way to losing weight much more efficiently. It works!

I agree with the others here. I grabbed a scale from Walmart, a tiny thing that I can take to work too to measure my snacks. It also measures the weight of water and milk which is extremely helpful.

There's not magic starvation mode you hit once you go under 1200 calories, just FYI. If you're eating healthy and clean, you may feel perfectly full at 1100, and there's nothing to worry about as long as you make sure you get enough calories and nutrients most other days.

You seriously must go buy a food scale. Weighing and measuring everything is very important. I can't stress this enough.

It may certainly be mis-judging the size of the food, but if you feel you are fairly accurate with it, keep an eye on the other totals other than JUST calories. You'll want to consider where those calories are coming from - such as carbs, fat, etc. You definitely need carbs, so don't cut it out completely, but check out what MFP says you should be eating in regards to carbs and you may be surprised if you are going well over what you need. Also, I'll have to do some research to remember the number, but when you look at a certain food, it should have a specific listing for calories from fat and that should be under a certain % of total calories. I'll reply once I figure that out. Hope that helps a bit.
