New...and hoping for a change

WARNING: RANT BELOW
Hey everyone, I am new on here and have been on three different diets over the course of the year and have remained the exact same weight. The problem is that I can maintain my diet for about a week or two before I just go on an all out food binge (and gain every single pound I lost). This keeps occurring and reoccurring and everything I do doesn't help.
So I am hoping this site might help me with these impediments. Um... yeah.
Even if no one reads this or cares to, thank you anyway because just getting my rant out makes me feel a bit better. :')

Hello there. I know how you feel. I have started and done well on several diets also. Each time, I get closer to my goal weight, but then make bad decisions by celebrating my accomplishments. I have had a personal trainer and she helped me get pretty fit and closer to my goal. But then, back to the celebratory food binge.
My suggestion to you would be to not think of this as a "diet," but rather a lifestyle change. Change not only what you eat, but also how you think. If you can believe it, you can achieve it. I will be here for a while as I would like to lose about 40 pounds...again. Hope we can succeed together.0 -
Defiantly change your thinking from "diet" to life style change
you can do this!!!

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
You are right, at the moment I am researching how to get out of the dieting mentality and sinply eat when hungry.

What I have found working for me right now is I don't cut anything out of my "diet" (well except soda but I took that out years ago). I simply make sure that if I want a treat it fits into my calorie limit for the day. To make sure that I am only eating when I am hungry (I tend to munch if I get bored) I try to stay active, and if I am getting the urge to munch I find something to do to distract myself. Here is a great website to find out what your calorie intake should be: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
Good luck, feel free to friend me if you wish.0 -
Make MFP work for you. Take your calorie allotment for the day and fill it with foods you enjoy. A diet doesn't feel like a diet if you can see yourself eating those foods for the rest of your life.
My boyfriend just started with MFP, and some days he's eaten very healthy, other days he went out for dinner and ate steak and sushi and what ever else he wanted. The common thread was that each day he was within his calorie limits. Each day is different, some you might be "good" others you might eat "junk" it doesn't matter as long as you stay within your calories.0 -
i know how you feel! sometimes dieting can be hard, and when you accidentally break your 'rules' you can feel like crap. the best thing to do is to keep trying after that. and maybe try to burn off those pounds you gained as well. walking for 1 hour a day can burn more than 200 calories; try it if you haven't yet!0
