Happy Friday!

So I didn't do my video yesterday. I went to the gym in the morning, did elliptical, and oddly enough, had enough calories left over for dinner. First time in a long time! I had yummy mushroom sandwiches for lunch, maybe that did it (toasted whole grain bread, chevre, & grilled portabella). Husband wanted to go for a walk, so I had extra calories yesterday. Never knew what that felt like!

Today, time for a video. Also some walking. Going out to eat tonight.

Any update from the docs, V?

Have a great workout!

Mary

I dont think I can work out today! I am going to be so busy!! I may be able to work one in while my kids nap. I really want a break since in the last 2 days I did over 1600cals. But I think my aunt is really going to give me a run for my money!! I need to at least burn at least 680 by Monday morning. I really hope I can work it in with the weekend. Arrrg the dreaded weekend!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Feeling better today other than my whole left arm being sore due to the lady that took my blood slamming the needle in my arm! :grumble:

Anyway, when I get off work I'm going to do 30min of cardio/resistance training to really loosen up my muscles for my P90x yoga. I'd LOVE to complete the whole 1.5hrs, so that's my goal, though I've never gone farther than 30min yet. Downward dog KILLS my wrists for some reason, but I'm building them up! I forgot to grab a lunch today so I think I'm gonna go to Sheetz and get a yummy chicken salad. Mmmmm.

There are a couple things you can do to take the pressure off your wrist:
    1. This one you should do every time anyway - push more underneath your knuckles. There should be no space between your fingers and the floor. Pressing more with the index finger side will rotate the arms in the correct position.

    2. During dog, come up on the fingertips. This is much harder but since I hurt my wrist, I've been doing them this way. You can also put a rolled sticky mat (if you have an extra one), underneath the wrist, so they lift slightly and are supported.

    3. Do a modified dog. The elbows come down to the floor, hands are straight out from the elbows, and the shoulders stay back (do not allow the shoulders to come forward of the elbows, the further back you can push the better). This pose is harder for most people. Unless you are quite flexible, your heels will lift higher from the floor than in regular dog. Don't worry about that, but keep your form. Keep the upside down "V" shape.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,
My hubby is back home now! I'm going to try to do the 30 Day Shred today and my push ups. That will be it. And drink my water. And spend time with hubby!
    Check in tomorrow!

Nope. . .still waiting. . .and my appointment with a specialist isn't until October. Oof. My only reassurance is that apparently they don't think it's an emergency. Still, a bit of a drag.

Anyways. . .today is bikram and studying. (oh, the fun!)

and water and vits and staying away from sweets. :flowerforyou:

TGIF all. Late posting again but alive & well. I did Turbo Jam Cardio Party and Ab Jam early & then went grocery shopping. I swear-it's such a depressing chore now I almost hate going.

Why? I enjoy going to the store.

I feel like I'm always last to post! I did go the gym last night and walked briskly for 45 minutes (HR up in the high 130s-140s), and I got my pushups in (HARD!).

Anyway, I am planning on going for a walk with a friend tonight (probably a couple of miles) and that will do it for me. I feel like I've been working out a lot and getting sore so I need to slow it down a tiny bit.

With the exception of the weight loss :grumble: , I'm doing pretty well with my challenge goals. Weight seems to be plateauing, though... I'll give it another week and then I guess I'm going to start logging every little bite again to see what I'm missing.

TGIF! I've had a busy week getting my classroom ready for the start of school next week. UGH! I really have to go back to work. We have staff meetings all day Monday, we are free to work in our rooms and plan on Tuesday, and the kiddos return on Wednesday! This time of year is always exciting!

I'm just getting home from school, and doing a zillion errands. I bought a BlackBerry today so I am occupied with learning how to use it.... I MUST fit in my exercise today... I think I will go for a brisk walk (45 min. or so). I'm ready for fall weather so that walking will be more enjoyable.

    Have a great weekend!
