    True story.

    A woman from America who was living here - her son played in same team as my son. She was very enthusiastic following the team - someone asked her if she always got that excited - Oh yes she said, I root for all the football team and the basketball team and......

    She suddenly noticed people's amused faces - you know, that sinking feeling when you suddenly realise you have said something wrong but you dont know what.

    Someone took her aside and explained the slang meaning of 'root' in Australia :happy:
