Flaw in MFP using steps

I did a run yesterday, 60 mins at 60kmph, with my iPhone 5S in an armband. After the run, the steps in MFP (that it gets from the 5S) correctly showed just over 10,000, but only showed as 230 calories burned (I was wearing a heart rate monitor and the correct calories burned is approx 800).
It seems MFP takes the steps from the 5S as walking steps, not running.

Are you sure you were running at 60kmph? Isn't that roughly equivalent to 37 mph?0
