after workout shake to give energy so i can go to work

Hi,

Just started at the gym doing 6am work out with a personal trainer to loose weight for my wedding in March. when I get to work I'm shattered and cant concentrate and tried. Should I be taking a after workout shake to give me some up and go so I can last the remaining of the day

Please help

    If you are having trouble recovering from a workout or concentrating then you should probably eat something. It doesnt have to be a shake though unless that is more convenient for you.


    Without knowing what the rest of your diet looks like its hard to give advice though.

    Real food would probably do the trick. Human beings have been relying on the stuff for a long time and it's worked out pretty well so far. I suspect if you had a banana before you got to work life would be pretty grand.

    i know very little about your current routine. do you eat before the work out? do you drink coffee??

    i've had shakes before. i make my own, with almond milk, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, a banana, and some oats. delicious.


    or, just eat something.

    Would it help to change the time of day you exercise?

    I've found I'm not a morning exerciser, for the most part. If I go too hard in the morning, I'm worthless for the office.
