Hello World!
I've finally decided to join myfitnesspal so that I could start keeping track of my caloric intake and exercise log (even though many of the exercises I do are not in the system yet).
Allow me to brag about my current accomplishments real quick and on to my goals. May 5th of last year I was 297 lbs, and in horrible health. I ate anything, anytime, anywhere, no questions asked! I got a job at a local gym and my life has since done a 180 degree turn. With the help of my boss, I quit using chewing tobacco as a form of stress relief and I became a vegetarian. I have since dropped down to 233 lbs, a 64 lb decrease over a year. My goal is 186 lbs so that I can join the navy. If I can lose 2lbs a week, that is 8lbs a month or roughly 6 months to lose the 47 lbs for my goal. August 15th I will be converting to a vegan diet full time. Please, even if you don't agree with the plant-based nutrition, do not leave hate mails about why I need dead flesh for protein gains.
I do have a question though. When I signed up for this, it told me that I need to consume 2200 calories a day with an active lifestyle to lose 2 lbs a week. I eat a fraction of that currently, maybe 1400 on a high day. 1100-1200 on average. The idea of 2200 calories a day just seems ridiculously high to me, I don't know though. I do a crossfit workout everyday for 1 hour, and bike for 10 miles/30m with 8 400m rows on a stationary row machine each day. Hopefully I can stay consistant with this program
So with that, I end my first post.

That is a great loss so far, keep up the great work! I have been told on here that 1400 a day is right for me and 2200 does sound high. Just got to balance it out with the exercise as you dont want to do too much and burn out too early as it is really demotivating0
