Hey everyone,

I'm a 33 y/o female. Currently 5'7" and 220 lbs :-(. Just recently returned from vacation where someone took my picture, put it on Facebook and I almost died from embarrassment about how big I've become... I can't conceal it anymore, No matter what I wear or how I pose. It's bad! I actually deleted my FB account and won't go back on until I lose weight and won't run from a camera!

Just prior to that, I was at my 6th bootcamp class when shin splints stopped me in my tracks and I quit. The instructor told me to keep running despite medical advice, so I gave up. I've been trying to motivate myself to save money by using the elliptical in my basement and tracking my food on MFP, which today is my 7th consecutive day!

Sometimes I just look around and see how hard it is for others to lose weight, and I think it's impossible for me. My biggest barriers is my inability to run (due to shin splints and DDD breasts) and low threshold for pain when my muscles burn. It hurts so bad, I've been tested for fibromyalgia, but nothing found. I do suffer from hypothyroidism, which also makes me feel hopeless.

My goal weight is 130, which is my high school weight. Through tracking my calories and trying to have a decent deficit each day from exercise, I'm hoping to reach my goal! Any tips are welcome! Thanks for reading :-)

    Hi,

First and foremost a very warm welcome to you and well done for sticking with the healthy theme despite several different set backs that you have had.

You can add me to your friends list and if you wish and I will try my best to motivate you :-)
  • Hey :)

    Welcome to MFP.

I've had a similar journey, I'm also 5"7 and started my weightloss journey at about 210ish lbs. I managed to lose 50ish lbs a couple of years ago but recently started to gain it back :(

But i'm back on here for good and to hopefully reach my goal weight range of 126-136 lbs :)

Feel free to add me :)
    Always around to help
  • Hello,

I am also very busty, even after weight loss, and I have found that champion max support sports bras are a massive help and are by far the best on the market for minimizing discomfort.

I hope everything works out for you.

Welcome and congratulations for getting back on the horse, so to speak. Have you tried using a rowing machine instead of running. I saw one of those Extreme Weight loss shows where a guy could not run due to bad knees and he used the rowing machines....still managed some very impressive results.
