Three-quarters of lesbians in the U.S. are obese, according to details of a new study, which has been given a grant of $1.5million to find out why.
The National Institutes of Health has awarded $1.5 million to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston to examine the correlation between sexual orientation and obesity.
The research, which will also focus on why gay females have obesity issues and not gay males, is described as of 'high public-health significance'.

having known a few obese lesbians in my opinion i dont see any correlation between it. My original thinking would be they suffered from some sort of identity crisis or discrimination which led to overeating, but the ladies i know came from loving, accepting homes. I think they over eat because theyre bored, not gay. but then again thats just my opinion im sure there is a correlation for some women as well as men but it all just boils down to the same issue as any addiction... its just a coping mechanism for something deeper.0

But on the bright side (insert an absurd amount of sadistic sarcasm here for those that can't tell) my children are being forced onto welfare insurance. Even though I was paying for thier insurance out of my pocket, um...maybe it will help if I switch teams they will research that?0 -
I'm glad I work so hard everyday to fund this type of important research :explode:0

Googling this has Fox News as the first "source"...
from LAST YEAR...
Along with Fox News, other conservative "news sources" are the only ones claiming the study is our tax dollars going towards figuring out the link between sexuality and obesity...
seriously... go home, you are drunk right now.0 -

Government has been wasting "tax dollars" since the Egyptians (was a massive pyramid really necessary for one man's tomb?). Whether true or not I'm not surprised.0 -

So is your problem with this that they are researching obesity or just Obese Lesbians? Would you have the same problem if they were investigating why white bald men with goatees and cigars were obese?0 -
