Understanding TDEE

So MFP says I need 1460 (before workout) to lose 2lbs per week.
I just did the TDEE and it says 3030 calories considering I'm working out 6 days a week.
So how much do I eat?

Ok - I used the this one and got between 2300-2600 per day.
So does that mean on days I work out I need to eat between 2300-2600 calories per day?0 -
Why don't you just use the MFP guidelines to begin with? If you have 82 pounds to lose you can keep the goal at 2 pounds a week for a while, I think. To net 1460 you will enter your exercise efforts and MFP will calculate calories. Most people claim that MFP gives you too many calories, as much as twice as much as you have actually burned though. So plan accordingly. This way on days you do not exercise you will eat 1460 and on days you exercise you may get a couple hundred calories more. Try it for a month and see how it goes.
I learned that once I became more experienced with weighing foods, logging accurately and moving more, I was able to eat more even when MFP adjusted a lower calorie amount because I've lost weight. I also learned, thanks to wearing a Fitbit, that I do not burn the same amount of calories every day. Fitbit automatically adjusts my MFP calorie goal based on my activity and I do eat my calories back (well, most of them) and have been losing accordingly. Net calories work, IMO.0 -

Your TDEE is maintenance...you have to cut from that to lose. A 2 Lb per week cut would be 1,000 calories off your maintenance calories...500 calories off your maintenance calories to lose roughly 1 Lb per week.0 -

Happy camper1 - that is the best explanation I heard.0

I think MFP overestimates the amount of calories burned exercising. Something to maybe keep that in mind as you make your decisions / MFP goals.
It doesn't matter much which route you choose. If it doesn't work, you can switch later. So choose the one that you'd like to try.
But if you go the MFP way and get dizzy or something, eat. Duh.0
