How does drinking one or two beers a night affect someone (like me) who is currently trying to bulk and build muscle in the gym?
One of my trainers once told me that alcohol lowers testosterone, and thus, should never be touched.

beer provides carbs (for the beer belly) and alcohol to inhibit fat burning, so it probably helps a little toward bulking.
The behaviour of drinkers suggests it enhance testosterone, but I haven't looked into that.0 -
Legend has it Arnold Schwarzenegger's post-workout snack was a whole chicken and a pitcher of beer. YMMV, but it sure sounds like more fun than protein shakes! :drinker:0

You're 19, and drink beer every night? Sounds like a developing alcoholism problem to me.
If you're serious about bulking avoid it all together.0 -
