Starting over

Hi All,

I'm new to the site as of yesterday. 3 years ago I lost 98 lbs by eliminating anything even slightly unhealthy and exercise. At the time it wasn't hard and the weight fell off fast. Then life happened got married, moved to FL then back to PA and new jobs, new homes and just stopped focusing on me. I have now gained back half the weight and the other day thought What am I doing, this has to stop. I am not happy by the way I look and feel. Been reading tons of different options for weight loss as far as food elimination and what and when to eat, but realized that calorie counting is truly the way to go. Have never really done that before just ate the same small amount at each meal but this time want to be able to develop a truly healthy lifestyle not just get thinner. Would love to hear if counting calories is all that anyone has been doing to lose weight or do you still eat smaller meals more times a day, eliminate complete food groups, increase protein etc....

    Hi

When I first started MFP I only calorie counted. No exercise and I ate unhealthy food but stuck to my calorie limit and lost 30 lbs. A few months ago I started walking and making much healthier food choices but I've never eliminated food groups, used intermittent fasting, done the whole eating little meals every few hours thing etc. I have three meals and if I'm hungry in between have fruit, plain ryvita, low calorie hot chocolate...I just make sure I log them. So far I've lost 60lbs by counting calories so I'd say it to definitely works :)
