How low did you drop?

Hey all,
Just wondering how much everyone usually drops when they are sitting at maintenance level?
I was on 1850 calories a day and fluctuating between 2lbs (id put 2 on then lose 2 etc) over the course of a few weeks. I have now dropped to 1560 cals a day (eating some exercise cals back also). Do you think this will be enough to kick start weight loss? How many cals did you all drop to kick start weightloss again from your maintenance levels?

Congrats on finding your maintenance - a lot of people struggle. Depending on your goals you would usually reduce TDEE by 20%. If you dont have much to lose you should reduce by 10-15%. If your maintenence is 1850, a 20% reduction would be 1480. For slower loss (or like I said, if you don't have much to lose), 10% reduction would be 1665. Try eating around the 1665calorie mark for a couple of weeks and see how you go. If you're not happy with your progress reduce it further. If you only have around 10-15lbs to lose, slower loss is better. Good luck!0

I am at 2k calories a day (averaging 1970) over the last 6 weeks...so 42 days...I have hovered around 152-154 those 6 weeks.
This past week I lost 1/2lb down to 151.5 and it's a solid 151.5 as it hasn't changed since Friday....average calories were 1898...so that's how low I have to go...about 1900. Mind you my maitenance is probably a bit higher @ 2100 but just playing it safe.
As a man you should be able to lose on a lot more than 1650...
are you logging accurately? weighing solids? measuring liquids? how much activity?0 -

Hey, Yeah I currently weigh 190lbs and would be happy between 175 - 180 so looking to lose around 10 - 15lbs. Your definitely right about doing it slowly! ill stick where I am for a couple of weeks and see if it works. Thanks a lot!0 -

Hey, Yeah I believe I am logging relatively accurately...I do some form of workout 4 - 5 times a week whether its boxing+weights or krav maga which can be a mix of different things so it's hard to log that. The only liquid I have is water with a bit of diluted squash in it (about 4 calories, no sugar etc lol) so I normally drink as much as I can of that.0 -

Then yah if I lose on 1900 you really should be able to as well...men can eat more than most women. Esp considering I am almost 2x your age...
However looking at your diary yes you weigh about 75%...but that other 25% could be throwing your numbers off...ie 1/2 tin of beans...184calories...I know my homemade beans are 320 calories for 3/4cup and MFP has it at 268 for 1cup....
Things like that really should be weighed and logged as weighed...0
