Can you change body shapes?

Well I hit my goal of 36-24-33 and beyond. Up until this year I had at my skinniest a C cup 35-24-31. My bust was a 32C was wearing I mainly store my fat as it is now. My waistline had indentations but my hips were straight and narrow. I gained weight in my bust first and foremost my thighs and butt next and then my waistline last. But I never gain on my hips. I can always feel my hip bones. There's no cushion there. They're straight and squarish. I have a mostly hard body my boobs are the softest part of my and people say they look hard even like implants to some.i gained weight and became a 37.5-25-33 which I looked a true inverted triangle because my waist was thicker without my hip to balance it out. My middle weight was 100 and 36-24/24.5-33. I've settled at this weight and my weight has gotten smaller it's around 22.5 inches. My hips are still 33" and and my bust still a 32D. My structure is still straight and square and my hips I still feel them the same but I actually feel more of the bone like structure seems more prominent but bits still straight my waist though now definitely curves out. I notice now I have hourglass tendencies and my waist to hip ratio is too extreme to be an inverted triangle. While I'm happy with my results I don't get how this can be I thought whatever body shape you were you stayed it? How can one lose inches off waist without weightloss? And how come I have a smaller waist now by an inches than I did when I was 10-15 lbs lighter?

Because now when I put my measurements in 36-22.5-33 I get hourglass. But some things don't fit like my shoulders which aren't taken into account. I also don't have a round look on my lower half at all. I'm just wider with no curve and a round butt and thighs but my hips are curvy or round like the hourglass description. They just happen to be wider than my waist it's basically just like think of if an inverted triangle had liposuction. But I also gain weight like an hourglass my bust butt and thighs gain first before waistline. So my dimensions and weight gain are now hourglass but before weren't? I'm 20 so shouldn't I be whatever shape I was going to be almost hips in my mom's family are unusual.0

I know there are workouts to target thighs and butt. I know doing stairs a few times a weak makes my butt really round and perky. And working thighs makes them a little bulkier. I know where are several lower abdominal work outs as well. A combination of all of those would probably help give you a more equal hips to bust ratio. It will take a lot of work but it def add more shapeliness to your body.0

Your "shape" is genetic. You can't change genetics. You can enhance body parts with weight training though.

I didn't use to think so until the singer Geri Halliwell completely changed her body shape (in my opinion) via exercise and diet. Amazing transformation.0

My butt is round and perky actually I have a defined panty line. And I gain weight on my butt and thighs. The only thing that changed for me was I lost inches in my waist without losing inches in my hip measurement which I usually lose in my hips first. And this was also done without weight loss.
I also didn't exercise I replaced my soda with tea... That was all I did. I just don't get why my body shape seemed to change when I was underweight my butt and thighs lost a lot of inches and my hips were narrow like now with a 23.5 almost 24" waist. Now my waist is smaller and my actually hips are wider. My hips on top without my butt is 33" so most of my hip measurement are my hips not my butt.0 -

Yeah but what happened to me has nothing to do with weight loss or gain. For some reason my waist synced in creating curves upward and downward instead of just upward. That's why I asked this.0 -
Yes and no.
Solid bones like the humerus cant change shape unless broken.
The ribcage on the other hand, is connected to the sternum by the costal cartilage and can change shape.
Without any pics its hard to say but you might have lost abdominal and psoas muscle, but who knows it could be anything.0 -

My structure is still straight it's just my waist lost width. My rib cage is about the same though.0 -
I'm sorry, I stopped reading after a few sentences. My advice? Stop getting so obsessed with measurements. Be happy with yourself and don't worry about what the inches say.0

I'm not obsessed I just noticed my shape changed. I actually have to know what my bra size and waistline is good to track.0 -
Like compared when I was much thinner I had no difference between waist and hips while I do now.

From body shape calculators I have what is called an hourglass now but before I really didn't seem to as I was so straight in the hips. My actual hips are still pretty straight in some jeans they look curviest but they're actually straight but set far apart in comparison to the waist.0 -
I just don't get how a body shape changes that drastically? I thought if you lost fat a certain way that's the way it was going to be.0

And I realized while gaining weight I maintained a straighter look.0
