I would like a protein powder that doesn’t have artificial sweetners and also won’t bother my lactose intolerance, I hear Whey might. I am thinking something good in a shake but also good just adding to food. Can anyone help me?

Thanks so much. I have never had a protein shake or added protein. For some reason I had it in my head it would make me gain weight.

I use Fat Flush Pea and Rice Protein available at unikey.com It's the only one I found that is non-dairy and doesn't have artificial sweeteners either.
  • A lot of people, even with lactose intolerance, have good results with Whey Isolate.

Jay Robb makes a really tasty Egg White derived protein that I used for a while and they are stevia sweetened; nothing artificial. :D
  • Oooh and as far as making you gain weight, no-no-no. Not unless you're drinking enough to go over your calories.

Keep in mind also that a protein shake is not imperative; I use them mostly for recovery/BCAAs for post-recovery in intense workouts. But they sure are tasty! ;D

Vega. It's a vegan protein powder...no dairy, no soy, no artifical flavors, colors, or sweeteners.

My favorite is the chocolate and the berry.

Nectar has a good flavorless powder--you can put it in anything. In the past I've gotten it thru Drugstore.com when they have it on sale.

I have a friend that is terribly lactose intolerant and he is able to digest whey protein without a problem. I would try mixing it with almond or coconut milk to get the thickness. I enjoy BSN Syntha-6 and BSN Lean Dessert to supplement my protein needs. They can be found at any Vitamin Shoppe or online.

I use the EAS Soy protein. Does this have artificial sweetener? I am now curious. I have lactose intolerance but this doesn't seem to bother me.

I use one called Pure from bariatriceating.com. I like it because its unflavored, truly unflavored. It melts in my yogurt and pudding completely. I stir it in, then let dish set for 15min at least. Then stir again and its totally invisible. It says you can use it in warm/hot stuff, but I don't. I stir in cold stuff or put in fruit smoothies. Its expensive, but I'm not very tolerant of icky protein powders.
