What a depressing Turn Of Events

For the first time in 33 years I have to start calorie counting
Not getting the chance to play football, fight, cycle or walk so got to finally succumb to the pressures of dieting

With one of the worst diets known to man, this is going to be harder than any physical challenge i ever done!
Someone pass a piece of cardboard! Im starvingggggg

Dieting doesn't need to be boring at all, it will be what you make of it.

Best way to lose weight is the way you mean to maintain, and I assume you don't intend to eat cardboard for the rest of your life ;) eat the foods you enjoy, just less of them....

Hi: that first realization can feel a little harsh, but I've found that by learning on here, some sharing, and making small changes without denying myself everything, it's not depressing. I have actually been having a fun (ish) time with the numbers "game". And -losing some weight feels Excellent!! I even love seeing my FR' s comments and progress. Hang in and enjoy the ride. It gets easier!! Don't give up! There is some great information put forth here.
  • You can eat and lose.....just do a little exercise. Take a look at my diary, I eat what I want when I want. I haven't hit a plateau yet. I kind of went nuts this past Saturday and drank too much and ate too much but I worked my butt off Mon and Tues to make up for it. Find your balance...if you are starving you will not lose weight and probably binge.

Would you like an order of fries with that cardboard? I eat what I want but made some changes to how much I eat and make sure I'm getting off my butt daily and being active. I don't crave much because I eat generally what I want and when. (The main thing is I work it into my daily allowance) Having friends with open diaries on here gives you ideas of snacks people eat and it helps prevent boredom....eating the same things all the time. Having friends on here is motivating....seeing how many calories others are burning and "how" is great....I bought a FitBit and love it....I have talked many a friend/co-worker into getting one as well. It's a challenge to see how you can fit the extra steps into your day. How come you no longer play football, cycle or walk???
  • injuries on top of work commitments!!
Ill get back cycling i suppose, its the least impact on my legs at the moment

Im dumbfounded at the calories stuff i horsed into for years actually has.
I must have had a great metabolism to be able to deal with it. Insane metabolism actually.
But alas, its time to start looking at food labels etc

    awks....
