Grrrrrrrrr no weight loss

I have been healthy eating for five years now,in the first four years I lost 9 stone got of my blood pressure tablets and down to 9.10 , I am 5 foot 1 inch tall,I have for the last year been trying to get down to 9 stone,do you think i I can do it NOOOOOO i am so fed up with it,I have been to 9.5 but then back up again,I excercise. 5 mornings a week for 2 hours and I mix cardi and weighs on three days and just cardio on the last two,I eat 1600 cals a day but I do save about 500 of the 1600 a day for the weekend,my heart rate monitor says I burn about 500/600 cals a day.i have never been a great sleeper but that has been the same all the way thought my weight loss,I tend to sleep approx 5 hours a night,I am a vegatarian and I know I eat hardly any protein and only eat carbs at weekend but I do have a small amount of carbs daily but very small,like two apples and lemon juice as they have carbs also a few crispbreads I just can not understand it and would love any advice please on where I and going wrong,I have a cheat meal only about once every 3 months.please help with my dilemma xxxx just to add I don't eat breakfast ,just an apple and do tend to eat the same thing week in week out that is salad with lemon juice for lunch and zero noodles evening with veg and passata.

For 5'1 the stats your BMR is 1210, and your TDEE looks about right.

Hi I don't log as I am ex slimming world and keep a food diary in my kitchen so write I all down every day and measure with electronic kitchen scales xx0

so you hardly eat any protein and no carbs, so what do you eat?! butter!?0 -
Hi Serena, for your height I'd say that 1600 calories a day gives you a bit of room for manoeuvre in terms of dropping that to 1400. (I'm 5ft 6 and on 1300).
My other thought is that 500 to 600 calories burned per day through exercise is quite high. I burn about 400 calories in a 45 minute gym class and manage to fit that in about 5 days per week. Your daily burns suggests that you are pretty fit and a regular exerciser, so it might be worth trying something completely different to challenge your body in to working harder?
I know how you feel though, I'm about 9st 10 and these last few pounds are mentally challenging even though I have a steady weekly weightloss.0 -
You might not be eating as much as you think - you say you don't have breakfast, have salad at lunch and zero noodles veg and passata for dinner? I think you'd struggle to be getting 1600 calories' worth of that!!
If you're vegetarian, add some more protein in - will you eat eggs or dairy? if not, what about nuts, seeds, quorn? Sounds like your macros are way out of wack and that you aren't getting enough energy to fuel all of those workouts you are doing.0 -
The 500-600 calories will be inclusive the the normal metabolic calories however, or gross burn. For Net you need to subtract the calories you would have burnt anyway just being alive, which is around 1 calorie per minute. Hence that would be around 317-417 Net burn for 180 minutes work.

Hi I eat an apple in the morning,luch is a lovely big bowl of salad with lemon juice and beet root,and yogurt for pudding,dinner is zero noodles with passata and veg or salad again,I do eat egg whites sometimes and tuna as well,I make my own icecream with mixed fruit frozen and add muller light yogurt and freeze it x0

I eat only 1000 cals a day as I bank the other 600 as we eat out at weekends xxx0

You could try just eating a steady 1600 (or 1400) calories per day, with no weekend splurge. Worth a try for a few weeks?0

Perhaps open up your diary. It could well be you are erasing your deficit at weekends too. Starving yourself in the week generally leads to overeating when you do allow yourself food.0 -

The easiest way to see the breakdown of the foods you are eating (macro wise) is to log your food on MFP for a few weeks. It will show calories and macros (protein, fats, carbs).0 -
I agree, log your food then you can see exactly how much you're eating. It's really the best way to figure these things out. Otherwise it's just guessing and that won't really help you. But really, it doesn't matter how many carbs or proteins or fats you eat as long as you stay within a calorie goal. As a vegetarian, you're going to mostly eat carbs, that's just how it works.
Try to get more protein in your diet. You eat dairy...how about eggs? Eat legumes and whole grains with proteins like quinoa.
Do you think you really use up the 3000 calories on the weekend that you bank during the week? That seems like an awful lot...0 -
I am going to start logging all my food so it can be worked out for me,thankyou for he advice so far.itis very confusing as one trainer told me I was not eying enough for the excercise I was doing,some have said I was doing to much excercise lol.0

I should add that the total I eat a ay is 1600 I don't eat back my excercise cals I burn each day whiich is 500/600 cals a day,as I excercise for 2 hrs a morning doing weights and radio Monday to Friday,do you all think 1600 is right for me I mad 5 foot 1 and 9.10 stone.0
