heart rate monitors on Groupon

I've seen Groupon and Groupon Goods selling heart rate monitors recently and have considered buying one, but I don't know anything about them and don't want to buy one if it's not going to work. Has anyone else bought one or know of the brands they're selling? Are they any good? In general, what should I look for when buying one? Thanks!

If it gives the brand name, check them out elsewhere for reviews. Amazon is a good place to start.0

My experience with Groupon has taught me that companies with products or services that are worth their cost don't need to pay Groupon to hawk their wares. I'm guessing they weren't Polar HRMs? I'm not sure I'd buy off-brand electronics, but that's just me. I've never heard of a good off-brand HRM.0

I also suggest reading reviews on Amazon. Look for 3-star, middle of the line reviews because those tend to be the most honest.0
