Uneven Breasts.

This is kinda embarrassing, but since I started to gain all this weight about five years ago, my breasts have also doubled in size. And one breast seems to have gotten alot bigger than the other. My left breast seems to be about two or three cup sizes bigger than my right. I was thinking that maybe my breasts were always uneven, and that it only became more apparent when I gained the weight and that I just never noticed before. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else, and if it they went back to normal when you lost the weight. I just hate looking freakish.

your breasts are most likely different sizes its not uncommon.
  • Although it is typical to have a difference in breast size, if it's 2-3 cup sizes different you should go and check with your doctor to make sure you don't have anything else going on.

I would definitely agree about having a doctor take a look.

I understand that it's pretty common to have one larger than the other. I have about a cup-size difference.
  • Yup, same thing goin on with my girls too! I actually had pain because of the pressure and wrong bra size and felt a lump...(it was just from my cycle, nothing major) But I went to the doc and had an ultrasound just to be safe. As the weight is coming off they seem to be equalizing themselves somewhat and not as many lumps around TOM. I suggest talking to your doc, just to be safe. The Tata's are too dang important not too, ya know?! (My friend walks 60 mile every year for the tatas, thats why I take it seriously, in a funny way.)

Mine are about a cup size different. I hate it more than you can imagine, but it's so common.
  • Common?...Yes! Annoying?...Yes..Size difference more noticeable the more you weigh?...Yes! Let's just say that righty has just enough room & lefty swims in the cup-probably 1-2 cup size difference. The smaller I'm getting the less the difference is but I'm sure it will always be a noticeable difference :(

I have a cup size difference too. It seems to stay that way no matter what I weigh. I bought a bra at Victoria Secrets that has inserts in the bra to put in padding to make them the same cup size. I really like it. :flowerforyou:
  • its called asymmetrical breast. its very common and usually no cause for alarm.

I have implants and they are not identical.

I did have a larger implant in my left breast than my right. And my lift involving my nipples being cut off and reshaped are not perfect....they look normal. They have "flaws" that I now consider unique to me.

If it is a major concern to you go to your dr/ gyno/ plas. surgeon and have a consult.

I had implants because after 100 pounds lost my breasts were the last to go and they were basically flat empty pockets, I had no tissue left. I would have rashes and the nerves were stretched out and it was basically considered re-constr. surgery.

You may be able to build the muscle up by lifting a heavier weight on the smaller side and it may appear more equal. I am not sure tho.

You cant really get an implant because the un -implanted side will change with age and the other may still hold its shape and location.....once again I am not sure. A qualified board certified plastci surgeon would answer that question.

    May I ask something???

is it a matter of you knowing it or other people noticing it?

Thanks everyone!!! I don't feel so weird now. :)

@tabstattooed - I think it's a bit of both. It is noticeable when I wear fitted shirts. My husband pointed out the uneveness and I was mortified because I never thought it was that obvious. My bras fit my right boob fine but my left boob looks like it's trying to make a run for it.

I've made an a appt. with my family doctor so I'll have to wait and see what her verdict:flowerforyou:

everyone's well how can i put this....ladies are different in size some people have a bigger difference and ratio then others....when i gained a lot of weight in was my left ta ta that was like 2 cup sizes bigger than my right and when i started losing weight so did my left tata lol and not my right thank god.......but my friends and i noticed the differences in ladies when we were in 8th grade gym lmao.... i remember it being the big topic for like 2 weeks    being a kid was fun *sigh*
  • could you possibly use some of those fleshy rubbery type insert thingys???

not really what a breast cancer patient would use......

I think they are used for enhancement....that may be just what you need.

Please dont feel awkward or ashamed......outsiders may not really notice unless they are major boob people and check out boobs.

Keep us posted on the dr visit.

Tabbs has a point, your husband is likely more likely to stare down "the girls" and also more likely to notice the difference, as he's more familiar with them.
  • BTW--I've noticed that buying bras that are padded or fitted rather than a thin style makes the difference less prominent. I know this makes a difference because I used to always notice the difference when I looked down at them--since I'm a DD I notice them anytime I look down  --and I notice less since I switched bra style.

I have seen a noticable change since I started strength training, and chest/back exercises. Things seem to be evening out some.

Very common condition. Most women are assymetrical to some degree. Plastic surgeons correct this as often as they do augmentations! Even breast feeding an infant can cause assymetry in a previously balanced woman. Don't worry, things will balance out!
  • After losing almost 3 stone, mine have gone from being totally normal to completely uneven :( My left breast looks to be at least a cup size smaller than my right, and I notice it so much it's making me really uncomfortable. Will they even out as I lose more weight?
  • I have the same problem. I'm hoping it will be less noticeable after I lose weight and with these exercises the muscle on the smaller side should even them out a little more.

Definitely this. I had this happen growing up and ended up having a reduction surgery done when I was 21. Best thing I ever did for myself TBH!

If you are right handed your right breast tends to be smaller, essentially from more exercise on that side of the body from what I understand. Me too, when I was thinner I didn't notice as much, but we'll see this time!
