Not quite sure how this happened

I've just recovered from an illness which caused me to be drowsy and sick a lot of the time. Naturally, I ate rubbish (the main thing I could keep down was chips) and even after the sickness subsided I continued with junk food and takeaways for a week while I recovered.
I got on the scale this morning, terrified to see how badly I'd messed up my weight loss (I had been on Insanity beforehand) and was shocked to find I'd dropped 2lbs from my pre-sickness weight.
Can anyone explain to me why this happened? Not that I'm complaining

Depending on what kind of sick (but because you stated that all you could keep down was chips) I would say that it is a combination of generally under eating during illness and some mild dehydration (way, way easy to get dehydrated when you're sick if all you want to do is sleep and/or throw up). Hope you're feeling much better now

This. I had a stomach bug about a month ago; lost 4.6 lb in under five hours! :P Just start watching your diet and exercise again and expect your weight to go back up to around where it was before the illness before it starts trending down again.I would say that it is a combination of generally under eating during illness and some mild dehydration0 -
You were probably carrying a lot of water while doing insanity. I usually have a big drop if I take a week off from weights.
