A small victory

A little bit of a story, keep in mind I am 26 now.

When I was in middle school, we had to run/walk/jog a 10 minute mile. As long as we could go a mile in 10 minutes or less, we would pass PE that year. We could try it as many times as we needed to pass. Well, in 7th grade, I weighed probably 160-170 lbs. I had to try the mile at least 4 times before I got it in under 10 minutes. Even then my lungs felt like they were going to fall out of my chest.

So today, I decided I would try to do a 10 minute mile. I haven't jogged or anything since I was a freshman in high school and involved in sports. Today, I jogged (speed walked for a minute at 5 minutes in) a mile in 8 and a half minutes!!! I am so excited that I was able to do that! Now my goal is under 5 minutes, that will take some patience and determination, but I know I can do it!

Just a small victory in my BIG journey! :)
