New moms...when did you run again?

I had my first baby 4 weeks ago. Labor was rough...heck it was awful...26 hours, epidural fell out so I felt everything through 2.5 hours of pushing, and on top of that, an 8cm long tear. I am still a bit sore, but nothing major. In fact, two advil in the morning and I feel great! My question is, how long did you wait before you started jogging again? Everyone around me is telling me to wait until my 6 week checkup next week, but they are also people who never worked out before or after having a baby. Honestly, I feel like my body is telling me to move. I feel lazy and I am so tired of just sitting around. I feel like maybe intervals of jogging and walking would be ok at this point. How long did ya'll wait?

I would say that you know your body better than anyone...even your doctor. I started walking around 3 weeks postpartum, but I've never been a jogger so I can't really give advice on that. But I was like you...I was starting to get stir crazy! I didn't start REALLY working out until 12 weeks postpartum though, because that was when I went back to work and it was just more convenient by that time (staying home with a baby wore me out! And every time I'd try to start something she'd get fussy =/).
I guess if I had any advice for you it would be to start slow like you said...do intervals of walking and jogging. If anything at all feels "off" then slow it down.
Best of luck to you! =D0
