Crepes!

One of my favorite things about calorie counting is that it forces you to be creative and try things you might normally have if you weren't concerned with your diet. And sometimes it's amazing how delicious eating low-cal can be!
I am obsessed with crepes, but they can be tricky to make, and I'm an extremely busy college student who usually has no time for anything but a grab-and-go meal. I'd been eying the pre-packaged Melissa's Crepes at the grocery store for a while now but the price tag stopped me from buying them.. But for Christmas I got a gift card for groceries, so the last time I went shopping I figured it would be a great time to try them out. Man, I wish I'd done this forever ago! I can tell you that they are absolutely worth the price and will be a staple of my shopping cart from now on.
They're great for meals and desserts. For lunch, I put a tablespoon of peanut butter in (the crepes are really thin so just a little pb goes a long way), slice up half a banana and lay it out over the peanut butter, drizzle it with a little honey, and hold. It's DELICIOUS, big, and very filling, all for less calories than a sandwich - it's only 210!
For dessert, I happened upon this idea when I was feeling too lazy to go to the store for Nutella so shuffled through my fridge to see what I already had. I got the idea to use Jell-O mousse instead. Jell-O makes these cups of mousse that are really good and only 60 cals each. They come in milk and dark. I scooped the mousse out into the crepe, added a single serving of whipped cream, folded, and ate. It was great but next time I would definitely add some banana or berries. One thing, I found that the cup of mousse was actually too much for the crepe, so next time I'd use half and save even more calories! Including the fruit, this would come in at around 100 cals... That's right, the dessert version is less than half the calories of the lunch version!
These are just two things you can do with crepes, they're really versatile and you can put all kinds of yummy, healthy things in!

Do you buy the crepes themselves, or make them? If you make them can you give the recipe?0

I just buy Melissa's Crepes, it's a bag of 10 premade. I can make them myself but it's time-consuming and these ones are only 50 cals each :]0

Locally I get them at Stater Bros. or Ralph's, but I've seen them at most grocery stores so I imagine they'd be at Safeway, Albertson's, etc as well0
